Really good book so far.
Hello.I'm 21 years old and male.Following the use of a drug, Roaccutane (a BAD drug), it was clear that my body was not in a very good state.I have developed digestive problems, and after speaking to someone else in my position, he recommended cutting out gluten as that seemed to help him massively.I bought this book yesterday, on the Kindle and have started reading it.The author makes the subject matter very fun to read, and adds in some humour (which never hurts).Cutting out gluten can of course seem like a huge burden. The rest of my family has 'normal' food each night, like pasta, pizza and other gluten containing foods. Both today and yesterday, I've refrained from eating anything with gluten in.Whether or not this will help my problems (ranging to anxiety and depression) remains to be seen, but I'm willing to give this a go. Gluten isn't good for anybody anyway. Just some can get away with eating it.It wasn't news to me that we shouldn't be eating ANYTHING containing gluten.I am a firm believer in eating what isn't manmade.Sure, I'd bloody love a cake and biscuits right now, but we just shouldn't be eating them.We should rely on nature - Meat, veg, fruit and the rest of it.Grains were brought into the world only recently (in evolutionary terms). The 'For Dummies' series are always reliable and decent, and this book looks to contain solid information on an important subject. For the cooks amongst you, you will find lots and lots (I think 100) recipes here. I'm purely reading it to motivate myself not to cheat, and also to know what I can actually eat. I'm also interested in saving money, because the 'free-from' isle in Tesco isn't cheap! Mainly, I think I will be having gluten free oatmeal with coconut milk for breakfast, meat and salad for lunch, fruit for snacks and another protein-based meal at dinner. This'd be much easier if my Mum wasn't a really good cook. Resisting spag-bol or a full roast dinner!? But, adjustments can of course be made.I expect, given time, this will get easier too.Habits can become addictions and I'm sure my cravings for chocolate, ice-cream and whatever else will subside soon enough. The book offers advice for eating out, and the troubles that can arise (socialising etc).So far, I'm really enjoying the book and will continue to educate myself. This will hopefully make the transition a lot easier for me, and you too - If you're choosing to cut out Gluten.Stefan

Too American for me
Biased towards the US market. There are better, more relevant books out there. A lot of links to American website's that are of little use to the UK coeliac.

luv it
I purchased this book for a xmas present for a friend who has recently had problems with foods with wheat. She was so happy with the information contained in the book she reads it all the time as it contains valuable information.
