Checkers is a family tradition that I just passed down to my three year old great-grandson. He picked it up immediately and won every game (after modifying rules midstream.). I recommend this game for young children. It encourages focus and predicting and sets the stage for Chess.

Smaller than I had hoped and the board is made from pressed particle board. So it's more of a wood product than actual "wooden". Playing pieces are also small and do not come in a pouch, which would have been nice.

Returning this, too small for us
I had a chess set and needed a chess board to accommodate the size of the chess pieces.This one is being returned for a larger checker board and checkers. I'm sure this is a fine set but didn't work for us.
