Nice shooting target pistol
This is my second 22 cal pistol. It is exactly the same as snowpeack 500 and Dianna 5. My first was the snowpeak. This pistol has a common fault from factory. The screw that that the barrel pivots on is a small thread and has a nut came loose from factory. Which caused the pistol to shoot horrible groups. After 10 months of shooting I found the problem when I took off the grips. I used blue locktite on the screw and nut. Be sure to leave it over night to set. You can also adjust the trigger while grips are off the screw on Bottom adjusts trigger pull. This is a very heavy duty air pistol. It will pierce a beer can 1 side only. I put 4,500 Crosman hollow points through it. The piston lever on piston broke. This was a extreme amount of abuse. I did get amazing good with it. Will not stop a ground squirrel, but very accurate target pistol. You can tell if breech screw is loose by seeing how much play there is in barrel. I will bet it shoots all over the place if so. Should be tight. I was very frustrated until I found the problem. Happy shooting!

powerful spring
It was properly packaged and arrived quickly. Seems to be well made and functions correctly out of the box. Easy to operate and fairly accurate. shots from 25 feet grouping surprisingly small. Also drives the pellet 3/8" deep into new 3/4" particle board. Great purchase so far

A basic low powered indoor spring piston pistol
Note: Not a Vine Voice related review. This listing is for a redesigned version of this air pistol. The earlier version was wood stocked and all steel, now discontinued. This is an un-marked .22 version (except for a serial number) of the Snow Peak SP500 (aka the Artemis SP500 or Diana P five in some markets). It is mixture of several different proven designs (internally very much like the old HW 70 from the1970s) made with modern styling and materials, and seems to have been influenced by the Umerex Browning Buckmark. The barrel, springs, screws and some internal parts are steel. The grip housing is black polymer with a grey soft rubber like insert. The trigger and front sight are also black polymer. The trigger is stiff, but like most springers it should burnish itself in with use. The trigger face has an allen screw adjustment to shorten travel (which will block the manual safety if run in too far). Alloy is used for the breech block which holds the barrel, the receiver/compression chamber, as well as for the piston. There is a steel insert where the piston is held by the sear, and the sear istself is metal. Seals are synthetic. Several non-critical parts are shared with other designs produced by this maker. I find the grip to be comfortable and well balanced. The reciever sits lower in the hand than many higher powered spring piston air pistols.. There are both a manual cross bolt trigger safety and an automatic trigger block that prevents the trigger from moving as the spring is compressed. In power and accuracy it seems to be designed for close range indoor shooting. The box the pistols ship in have the date of manufacture. I purchased two pistols that were produced on the same date. The first pistol I recieved was pleasantly accurate out of the box and only needed minor sight adjustment. The second pistol had loose sight screws out of the box, and nut that retains the screw that the barrel pivots on was not attached. Fortunately there was a video showing disassembly on Youtube, and I was able to dissassemble the stock and attach and install the nut properly prior to firing. The second example was also quite accurate once the screws were tightened.

5.5 (.22) version is fantastic!
I initially bought the .177 version. It shot so well that I right away ordered the .22 version which arrived today.I have chrono'd it; Averaged 270fps with 12.9gr H&N Sports. About what I thought and adequate for its purpose. As said, my first 5 shots of plain-jane 14.3 Crosmans made one ragged hole offhand at 25 ft....with a broken trigger finger. Not too shabby for an inexpensive springer pistol out of the box.Honestly, most times I go to down to my home range, I just shoot 5 to 20 rounds. Got weary of loading a CO2 or PCPs just for that amount. Back to springers and single-strokes.

I really wanted to like this gun!
I'm so bummed about this pellet pistol as the copy I received did NOT live up to the reviews. After firing many pellets from different manufactures, across varying weights and types, I could not shoot a reliable group. By this I mean the spread was VERY bad and unpredictable. I also gave it a go with red dot site, but my experience was no better. I loved the fact that this was break barrel in pistol form. I love my Crosman 13XX's, but it's so nice to have only one single (fairly easy) pump stroke and its ready to fire. I hope they release a new improved model in the future. Buyer beware.

Shoots well, but very poorly packaged and ARRIVED DAMAGED
It is a hassle to send this back, as I have limited mobility. But, I should. The plastic rear sight came broken, as can be seen in the photo. That is because this not-inexpensive gun arrived in a flimsy, unmarked cardboard box placed inside an Amazon envelope with no packing material of any sort. Amazing there was not more damage.Further, no manual came with the gun. Unacceptable. This is actually a well-made handgun, which is probably quite accurate with functional sights! The manufacturer/distributor should be ashamed to send out this product with so little pride as to how it is presented to the buyer. And, Amazon should not be encouraging sellers to peddle products with this low level of QC. Very disappointing.

It doesn't last very long before it breaks
Well at first I was quite happy with it just like I was with the 177 cal version of it but the spring on the 177 broke on it and you can't cock it no more so I decided to try the 22 cal version and for a little while it was pretty good but now it's starting to get harder to cock and then if you do get it to cock it's liable to go off by it s self as soon as you put the pellet in it and close It which it has done several times now which is exactly what the 177 cal version did before it suddenly broke. So I don't know what the problem is but I will not buy another one of that brand again which sucks cause they were fun at first
