Lovely Christmas ornaments to keep for years and pass down through the generations. Beautifully presented in vintage style boxes. Lovely detail and colours on the dolls themselves.

These dolls are of good quality and well painted. However beware, they actually comprise 3 sets of 3. I had expected a 9 piece single set . Perhaps I should have read the description and reviews more carefully.

This is a delightful nativity set, which comes as a set of three Russian dolls, which each contain two more dolls. The sets include, Joseph, Mary and Jesus, along with the three wise men, a shepherd, donkey and lamb.Each little set is nicely painted to reflect traditional style imagery, dress and colours.The Russian doll sets each come in there own box (three) within a larger box, which has a very old style traditional font design, as seen in some older bibles.The only minor issues I have with the set is that they are quite stiff to open... probably because they are new, so they will probably loosen over time and the price... I can appreciate that these are hand painted and so there is some considerable effort put into making them, but £46 is a lot and I agree with another reviewer, that you can get Russian dolls for a lot less and I have seen 8 Russian stacking dolls for around half this price. Bearing this in mind this set would probably be better value around £35. However, it is a set that will be very durable and last for many years if looked after.

Firstly I’m going to say I’m very disappointed with this set.It is three separate Russian dolls containing two smaller characters. The set doesn’t actually make much sense the baby Jesus is the same size as an adult character and the sheep.The faces on the characters are a bit non-descript and I find them odd looking.The transfer print is not of the best quality.There is no way I’d be paying nearly £50 for this set I’d value it nearer £10!Sorry but I feel unable to recommend and can only award two stars for me.

Value for money

I was a bit suprised when this set arrived as I thought this was 1 russian doll. It is actually 3 seperate dolls (each containing 2 more). They come in a pretty larger box with 3 seperate smaller boxes inside. It is incredibly difficult to distinguish some of the characters. The description states "Contains Jesus, joseph mary, three kings, shephard, donkey and lamb". Joseph is holding a lantern which we confused as a gift (wise man) or possibly as the inn keeper. We thought the shepard was Joseph originally. Now we know which is which but is confusing initially. Nice traditional set however I do think it is incredibly expensive in comparison to other festive russian dolls on the market. Although very nice I wouldnt want to pay almost £50 for this set.
