I tried an active HDMI extension cable and it failed after a few weeks of use (the picture got all washed out and the colors were bleached).The ORIE 1x4 HDMI Extender is a great solution. It is simple to set up. There are a few dip switches that can configure the ORIE for interlaced or progressive. After the dip switches, I changed a few settings on my TV so the image fit my screen perfectly.I play videos and the picture is beautiful. My wife has a wonderful eye for color and she loves what she sees. The blacks are black and she does not see any digital noise.I'm picky about sound. I play 24bit 96khz audio files and they sound great. I'm so glad to hear my music playing beautifully (and not be listening to FM radio or streaming audio) when I'm away from my core sound system.I purchased a Chromecast Ultra at the same time as I purchased the OREI. The Chromecast Ultra is good for sending wireless from Android. The OREI is great with any HDMI wire output and plays video and sound better than Chromcast.

Slow customer support. Unit does not function as advertised. Attached to 3 TVs. Only the closest one (20' away) worked. Farthest unit was about 90' away. Difficult getting it to work over distance. I purchased another ethernet cable to troubleshoot, to no avail. This company makes an identical unit (same model number) that has 5V wall warts for the receivers. I contacted Orei and they said they said they would email me and send a replacement with the receiver AC adapters. The email never arrived. Another email to tech support. They wanted clarification, & I provided information regarding the problem. They since did offer a (roughly) 3/4 refund. I should have tested it inside the Amazon refund window. My fault. I have upgraded my rating to 4 stars.

The media could not be loaded. This was purchased for our church so we could display presentations, videos, photos, etc. on 5 screens (four new 4K TVs and one older 1080P TV). We were upgrading from older analog technology that could not support high definition signals which limited the readability of the monitors as they were. The most cost effective solution was new 4K monitors fed by an HDMI signal over standard Cat 6/7 ethernet cable. Some of the runs were almost 100 feet long. We purchased the Orei splitter and had some initial difficulties which we were not sure if they we're due to the monitors, the cable runs or the splitter. Coincidentally we received an email from the co-owner of the company asking us how we liked the product, and if we were having any problems. We wrote back and explained everything, and he indicated that they had an updated design which he thought might fix our problems (at no cost to us). We shipped back our unit, and promptly received a new one. I installed it and as we hoped, we now have PERFECT HD signals sent to all the monitors. The 4k units upscale the signal so they look even better than the one HD monitor we have. The product value and functionality alone are enough for me to highly recommend this, but when you add in the level of customer service we received, from the owner of the company, no less, this rises to the level of a rare find and a company that deserves to be supported. I highly recommend this product and this company!!! I have received the best service of any I have received on an Amazon purchase since I first became a Prime member many years ago.
