Melanie Mills Hollywood "Glitter & Glam" Book: Dazzling Makeup Tips for Date Night, Club Night, and Beyond Paperback – September 3, 2013

I enjoy makeup books and was really excited about this one. With the title I expected it would have some sultry looks for going out, etc. Having just finished the last page, I can't say that I'm impressed with this book. It does have some different and unique ideas for looks but they are mostly intended for playing dress up or for a a costume party. The photographs don't do the models justice and I got the impression that the whole thing was just sorta thrown together (most all of the models are people she works with on her television shows). There are no "before" pictures to compare the looks to (isn't the whole point of doing such loud looks to see the transformation?). I can't see myself using any of these tutorials except for maybe Halloween or something. The looks are way too overdone and the makeup looks almost cakey and too reminiscent of bad eighty's movies or cheap hookers. Sorry but that's my humble opinion.

The book was delivered tonight. Normally, you get a book. You open the package. You flip through a few pages. At best, you hang out with it for a while.My entire night has passed. I couldn't put it down. The photography, artistry and beauty is mesmerizing.I enjoyed it so much, I've been trolling the internet to find out more. I keep finding these behind the scenes videos. You should check the one with Arianna Grande. Damn that girl has serious notes.

Page 71 has a white shimmery loose powder with blue undertones on the upper cheek, nose, and chin. A lot of the stage makeup is over the top for every day, but this and the coppery red head examples caught my eye.

Lots of creative and interesting makeup ideas. I modeled for this book and the woman who created it is very kind and talented.

Was not crazy about this book.
