Galleria Umbrella Stick Van Gogh Irises, 1 EA

It's pretty and is exactly the artwork I wanted BUT there are two issues with the design. 1) The bottom spring does not stick out very far. When trying to close the umbrella it doesn't catch or stay in the hole in the runner very well. This makes it difficult to close the umbrella AND it causes the umbrella to open on its own if it has not been secured with the velcro-ended tie (surprised with an umbrella opening while driving!). Which leads to the other issue: 2) The edge of the fabric is sergered and the thread is pretty loose around the edge of the entire umbrella. When trying to tie the umbrella closed (because the bottom spring is too small to keep it closed on its own), the velcro gets stuck in the loose thread on the edge of the fabric. These two shortcomings result in a sometimes comical display of trying to keep the umbrella closed while trying to unattach the velcro-ended tie from the edge of the umbrella.

The reproduction of Van Gogh's Irises is fuzzy and pixelated, and the finishing seams around the edges, as other reviewers have noted, have a tendency to catch on to the velcro closure. I had expected a better quality image. The construction of the umbrella overall seems sturdy enough, although the closing latch mechanism looks like it will not hold well. I think I will return the item.

The umbrella is good and functional, however, IT IS NOT THE COLOR THAT IS ADVERTISED, the colors are very light and almost look pinkish rather than the purple/lilac tones that should be. If the color palette is you main draw or a deal breaker, this item is not for you. Could have been perfect :(

This umbrella gets a compliment every time I use it. I gave it 4 stars because the caps that hold the fabric to the spokes of the umbrella are not fixed. The caps pop off and while they can easily be placed back on it is inconvenient to do in the rain. My last one did not come apart in this fashion but I am still pleased with the umbrella.

I love it. I hate rains and want something nice and bright in an ugly rainy day. I was debating between starry night and Irises, decided flowers are better, they reminder me why we have rains in a first place. That umbrella is gorgeous, definitely eye catching, and I don't have any problem with the quality. Love it. I am ordering another one as a gift, and more likely will buy few more. All my friends love it.

I ordered this as a surprise item in addition to other birthday items for my adult daughter's birthday; she is keenly aware of beauty around her, and was very happy with it. The only reason I didn't give the item 5 stars is that I forgot to ask her how it functions.

At last, those of us in the U.S. have access to umbrellas as ones I've seen on world travels! Larger than those fold-up types yet smaller than golf umbrellas, this is perfect for keeping both you and your packages dry on a rainy day.

The wood split on one of the ends. It needs to be replaced. My sister didn't know how to do it. I just arrived from out-of-state and saw how bad it is.
