Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Season One Part One (DVD)

Exactly what I wanted.

I was quite skeptical of this series when I first saw the promo material, the animation looked terrible and it seemed they they were going to make Scooby-Doo into a crappy sitcom. After the brilliance that was Mystery Incorporated, I felt certain that this would disappoint. Well, it is lighter and fluffier than Mystery Inc, but to my grand surprise Be Cool is magnificent. The humor is mostly spot on, occasionally a joke will fall flat but most of them make me smile, and there are big laughs scattered throughout each episode. The animation I didn't like at first, but it quickly grew on me, and the monsters look really cool.Some people have mentioned that Daphne is stupid in this show, but I don't think so. Rather she seemed perfectly intelligent just highly eccentric and unpredictable. In fact I think she's the best thing about the show, and her moments are responsible for the lion's share of the laughs. If there's one flaw with the show it's that the new voice actress for Velma has yet to impress me, perhaps I'm too used to Where Are You and Mystery Incorporated but she just sounds... wrong somehow.Is it as great as Mystery Incorporated? Well, no. But it comes far closer than I expected, and I truly hope that Be Cool Scooby Doo will get at least one more season.

Is it different than the Scooby Doo we all grew up with and loved. Yes. Is it different animation. Yes. Is that bad. NO. This is a different take on Scooby Doo and it works. I wanted to hate it, but I couldn't. It was funny, zany, and awesome. The characters were fun, interesting, and COOL. Daphne has little weird quirks every episode that make you wait to see what happens. Velma is smart, witty and awesome. Fred loves his traps and leads the team. Scooby and Shaggy are.....well Scooby and Shaggy. Give it a chance and you and your family will love it. I promise. Don't go in saying this isn't my Scooby Doo. And you will be fine.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this - as the animation seems like it would be very strange - but I purchased it since my kiddo loves everything Scooby Doo.The animation isn't so bad, as I kind of stop noticing it, after a while, but man, this show is flippin' hilarious! Shaggy and Scooby have some of the funniest lines and witty banter.After 50 years, Scooby and the Gang never have to be rude, or crude, and they continue to be family friendly. Plus, after 50 years, it is nice that the episodes are not super repetitive - there is always something new.Like, totally worth a watch, man. :)

This is a great show. The originals are still the most important work, but this new incarnation is a very smart, funny, and endearing production. Plot lines are ridiculous, but you can tell the writers took the time to at least make them plausible & consistent within the rules of this cartoon universe. The music, both instrumental and featured songs, are really inspired. Nice work, Jake Monaco! If I could change one thing, it would be how Scooby is drawn. Not sure what it is about his appearance; he almost looks like how he'd appear in a Family Guy vignette.

I’m addicted to this show right now I have watched them all and rewatch them while I go to bed! They r so clever! And so many things are thrown in there for adults! This is almost equal to mystery incorporated! And that’s saying a lot! I never thought I would like these more then the original ones! U won’t be sorry getting these! No matter ur age I’m 30 & hot! Lol seriously anyone would like these!

I have raise on scooby doo since the year it was created and at first I didn't know how about about this. Like PUP NAME SCOOBY DOO and SCOOBY DOO GET A CLUE the animation style was totally different as was Dafney personality. as the series went on I found myself tuning in to see why different running gag Dafney was going to do in each episode. the mysteries were still top notch story wise and I transforming mystery machine reminded me of the van in the classic Hanna Barbara AMAZING CHAN CLAN series. If your a strict fan of the traditional personalities and did not Dafney in PUP NAME SCOOBY DOO you may not like this but if you like this. I recommend if you get to try it out on Boomerang and like it that you might want to pick this up. Just wish part 2 would come out with some of my favorite missing episodes.

Different animation, same gang! I loved how the new series went back to the old characters. No romance, none of that" it could be real" garbage that ruined the last series for me. Just good fun and VERY funny writing for.the characters dialog. I thought the new Velma was great! She had some big shoes to fill, and she did a great job. I think the spirit of Velma came through, and it was just a few minutes before I stopped noticing the new voice and just enjoyed the show. I will purchase all of these that they offer!

As a long time Scooby-Doo fan, in my opinion this is by far the best modern revamp of the franchise. It is very entertaining, with humour, quirkiness and a little spookiness. Some episodes I wouldn't recommend for young children based on the the spookiness, unless you think they can handle it. I was a little sad Mindy Cohn wasn't back to do the voice of Velma, but the new voice actor for Velma did a great job. Definitely looking forward to future episodes.

I've been a Scooby doo fan for forty years and this collection reminds me why.
