Bravery, determination and wits kept this young lady alive.
This is my review of Getting Out Alive: The Autumn Veatch Story, True Stories of Survival Book 1. I hate trying to review a book that is this short. It is only 41 pages long, and I read it in 20 minutes. It is hard to not give away the entire story. A young lady, named Autumn Veatch, goes for a plane ride, and when it crashes, 2 other people who are with her are killed. She has to make it out of a chilling forest over a two day and night pilgrimage while not only wet, she was also tired, hungry, scared, filled with grief, shock and horror. Her wit, determination, bravery and hope served her well, and I am thankful she is alive. Very touching and the author brought the details out so much that you almost could smell the trees, feel the cold, and have you rooting for Autumn the entire time like you are right there with her, cheering her on.

Survival but boring
This book is small and short. Getting out alive is a bit dramatic for her experience. No hypothermia, no need for food or water or defense against scary animals. She basically walked until she came to a road and flagged down a car. Hardly suspenseful. Many other survival stories out there. I recommend you stick with them.

A Gripping Story of Survival
Getting Out Alive: The Autumn Veatch Story by Tara Ellis is a gripping story about Autumn's survival in a plane crash that killed her step grandparents.I had read the news article when the accident happened and thought that it was a miracle that Autumn survived and was able to hike out of the wilderness to finally be rescued. When this book came out, I wanted to know more about the girl who had overcome so much and became a true survivor in more ways than one. This is a well-written account by Tara Ellis of what it took for Ms. Veatch to get through this harrowing experience. Kudos to both Ms. Ellis and Ms. Veatch for an excellent read. Highly recommend.

Story of Survival
I am writing this review to encourage the author Tara to continue to write her stories. I like the fact that this is a true story and Tara makes it clear from the beginning that it is a short story. I believe more information about the grandparents and the trip from the beginning would have made the story better. Keep up the hard work and continue to improve.

Super short...like 30 some pages and other than the plane crash, not very interesting . Certainly not something I would pay to read, had l known in advance. You can read it in ten minutes.Certainly not worth buying.
It take ten minutes to read this really not very interesting super short story. Do not waste your money or time

A Very Short Read
I enjoyed this short story, but would have liked a lot more information. Who were the two men who found Autumn? Were they searching for her? Who was in her family? What was their reaction when the plane did not land? The book did not even explain that the step grandfather was the pilot until the plane was in trouble.

Amazing Autumn!
Autumn us an amazing young woman, and I am amazed at her tenacity, and holding it together to get herself out of her situation.I applaud her, and hope that if I were ever in that situation I would rise and conquer like Autumn did!I hold her in the highest regard, and hope she has a wonderful long and happy life 🌲💕🌲

Short true story
Good account of young girls experience (in her own words, so you can forgive her for not having the most mature writing style). Be aware that very short story.
