8 pages on cold air intakes vs only 2.5 pages on camshafts...that tells you all you need to know.
I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel it's necessary here.I was hoping that this book would be full of useful information about specific differences between models, what modifications have proven useful or not useful, etc. Here's what it really is...First 1/3: Basic information about the LX platform cars and hemi engines. Lots of repeat information, but maybe helpful for the rank novice, particularly in the engine identification section. Nice looking pictures. The fact that a third or better of the book is just copy/paste information (probably from allpar) tells you all you need to know. It's been heavily padded to get the page count up and make it seem useful to shoppers.Second 1/3: "Bolt on performance" section. This is utter garbage. I'd be shocked if the publisher wasn't getting paid by the parts manufacturers to push these parts. 8 full pages just on cold air intakes (which are a total waste of money), and the dyno charts are provided by the CAI manufacturer(no bias there I'm sure...). Contains quotes like "the OEM catalytic converters on your car are a bottle-neck for exhaust flow....high-flowing cats significantly increases the engine's horsepower output"...when the OEM cats are in fact high flow already. This entire section(which is nearly 1/3 of the book) contains very little useful information, and following the recommendations is a good way to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on parts that will gain you nearly nothing in terms of performance.Final 1/3: "Modifying your engine" section. There is literally less than 1 full page of hemi specific camshaft information. That should tell you how in-depth this book is, and what the quality of the information is like. Most of this section is slightly edited copy/paste marketing/specifications for different forced induction systems. There are a few helpful tables such as cylinder head flow data for the different hemi heads out of the box. The biggest let down here is the complete and utter lack of information about OEM part swap compatibility. For instance, a common 5.7 modification is the camshaft from the 392. Information about the differences between the MDS and non-MDS 392 cams would be helpful, as would valve spring interchangeability...but there's no money in people using OEM parts, so it's not mentioned.Final sliver: Suspension/brakes/etc. Super basic and short section that describes the OEM suspension setup and then talks about all the multi-thousand dollar upgrade kits available on the market. Of course if you wanted a big brake kit for your R/T you could piece together a BR9 police kit from basic parts on rockauto for like 600 bucks, but again, no money in that so they only tell you about aftermarket Big Brake Kits that are 3 grand. Same goes for suspension parts. Why buy the stock Super Track Pak or SRT parts and bolt those perfectly good parts on when you could spend thousands of dollars more for stuff that's no better...eyeroll.2/5 stars, would not recommend.

Middle of the road book
Pros: -Great Quality pictures of aftermarket bolt-ons and explanations of exactly what they do. Even has some graphs with Torque and HP numbers ( though im pretty sure they are all directly from the manufacturer of said product, so take them with a healthy dose of salt)Cons: This is by no means a haynes manual. Really does not explain major engine overhaul procedures, which is what I was looking for. If you're looking for the same, dont purchase this book.-This book had a lot of typosFinal word: I dont regret buying this book, but I still need another one take me through overhaul procedures

Great starting point and reference guide
Awesome book..... lots of general information, product knowledge, and aftermarket parts. This is a great book to have if you don't know where to start with upgrades. This is a good reference guide for aftermarket parts and on the back pages, it gives you websites and contact information for these types of companies.
