Nice economy printed book series (without box). Printed on "paper" not news print as some cheaper children's series.

It was just what my Granddaughter wanted

I had these books in elementary school and got them for the nostalgia and for my book collection. It’s a great read, but I am slightly disappointed that the artwork is so different from the copies I managed to keep from my childhood.I could get over the cover art merely being different, but the little pictures at the beginning of each chapter are also different.In my old copies, each chapter had a unique illustration that pertained to the chapter. In these books, the illustrations are all the same based on the cover of the book. The style of the art in the new books also feels far less unique than in my older copies.The books just lose their luster and personality to me without those beautiful little artworks and for that I do have give this particular item only 4 stars.The story itself is a 5 star rating from me, but I’d much rather have a full set with the nicer artworks.

Both my granddaughter and her parents think these books will not be read for a couple of years. Not enough pictures. Words too hard for her (grade one) to read on her own. And parents don’t have enough time to read them to her.

These are such a lovely series of books ! My daughter went through them so quickly and really enjoyed the stories
