These clipper guides are essential to getting a good looking cut on our golden doodle dog when doing the job myself. But, they do break and require replacement. At $100 - $120 to take him to the groomer, the Wahl dog clipper kit is a very affordable alternative. I also feel like it has created a better bond and trust between my dog and I. I have been grooming my own dog for over a year and I enjoy it. But it is work so I am not criticizing the groomers for what they charge to groom a large breed dog.

This is one of those items that is probably not on top of most people’s shopping list, mainly because a full set of these combs is standard when you buy most Wahl clipper models. So you only need them if you lost or broke your original set. I did the former; they are one of a whole list of things that went missing in a recent move.First off I’m glad that Wahl sells them as a kit and for only about twelve bucks it’s not even worth considering buying them individually.These are genuine Wahl replacement combs. The country of origin isn’t listed but they give the impression they might be made in the USA.The quality is good and they fit perfectly. Remember that these are only guide combs; they don’t have to be super strong. I like that they are made from a semi flexible rather than brittle plastic so they can bend a slight amount without cracking.These are just what I needed to keep my wonderful Wahl ProLithium clipper working for me as it should.

I'm very happy with the variety of lengths.

These were a perfect match to my clipper but a couple of the guards are lose fitting.

These fit regular wahl mags. I bought these and save a few bucks!

I have a cat with a very thick double coat and frequent mats. These guards don't work at all with my clippers when attached, but the clippers by themselves work fine. I think these guards probably do work well for a different type of coat though, and they fit well onto the clippers and stay snug.
