Coast of Maine (20qt) Organic and Natural Planting Soil for Acid-Loving Plants - Rhodys, Azaleas, Ferns, Hydrangeas & Berries

The bags were large and full of excellent soil. Enough to transplant my two blueberry plants and raspberry plants into larger containers.

Coast of Maine is a good quality product, but if you have time it can be purchased much cheaper elsewhere.

After reading reviews from others stating that the soil was not acidic, I did a test also. I have a very nice acid reading meter I use to test my blueberry soil. I just did 3 different tests and my numbers come to 6.9, so it’s not acidic at all.False advertising on their behalf!

I bought this soil to plant two camellia plants, in honor of my new granddaughter bearing that name. The soil pH is 7- barely. I am new to growing acid loving plants, but I would have expected a soil for them to be closer to the 5 or at least 6 range. I have now had to purchase an acidifier, so we will see how it goes.

I purchased this soil as it is advertised as ‘acid’ for my azaleas. I decided to test the soil and it is neutral not acidic. Miracle grow soil has the same Ph level that I could have bought at the local big box store at a cheaper price. I would not recommend the soil if you are looking to purchase an ‘acidic’ soil. It’s definitely more alkaline than acidic.
