Very informative book and well written
The reason I did not give this book a five is because Do you need it to be more pictures when explaining the different movements so people that are very true beginners would be more comfortable doing them.

Hoping to get in better shape
I recently retired after 30 years at a desk job. While I have no problems with my weight, my flexibility and strength have waned. (I am in the 50+ age group now). I picked up this book hoping it can help me get into better shape without having to spend a ton of money or suffer the embarrassment of going to a gym. I liked the explanations in the book and the step-by-step guides, but more illustrations would have been helpful. I am really excited to get started on a better me.

A Comprehensive Guide!
This is a very complete guide to a branch of exercise that is recognized by the workout structure but not necessarily by name. And this guide not only introduces all the aspects of it, it also includes review of the importance of rest days, a comprehensive meal guide and a starter exercise guide.

Timely and Informative
I was impressed by the author’s thoroughness in breaking down for beginners the argument for using calisthenics as the means to get and stay in shape. Not having to step into a gym again--or pay the high fees involved--is reason enough to go to this method of conditioning. But, more importantly, the physical benefits of using your own body for resistance training, as enumerated by the author, are surprisingly impressive. The book’s clear organization, easy-to-understand content, and wide assortment of conditioning tips, techniques, and exercises, makes this a very useful, practical guide, especially now. Highly recommended.

Thorough
This is the kind of book that you need to read twice. Don't try to memorize everything during the first reading. Let the information sink in slowly. The best part about the book, aside from being thorough, is that it combines the calasthenics with planning, scheduling, diet, and even recipes. It is a full spectrum guide to healthy living.

Exercise
Not what I was looking for. This was general health as opposed to exercise how to. Needed more diagrams and instructions

Information dump, very little help with exercises!
Feels like the book has been cobbled together from different articles. Relevant, but strangely for a book on beginner Calisthenics it doesn't have pictures or decent explanation of the exercises....
