I have a strong love-hate relationship with my hair. On days where it feels smooth, thick, and oil-free, all is wonderful. However, on days where it feels limp, thin, and dry, it’s hard to feel my best.Last fall, my hair started falling out, for a number of reasons, though mostly due to stress. I began researching ways how to grow thicker, healthier, and shinier hair naturally, and one of the suggestions I came across repeatedly in my research was the boar bristle brush. I’d been using plastic hair brushes my whole life, and was hesitant about buying another brush; would it really make a difference?I finally ordered the Dovalia bristle hair brush and comb (they came together with my order), and was amazed by the results. The bristles on the bristle boar hair brush have a similar texture to that of a broom, which was a surprise, though after one brush, my hair instantly felt thicker, smoother, and more voluminous! This was much unlike my plastic brush, which would usually leave my hair feeling either flat or staticky. Apparently the brush helps spread oils evenly throughout the hair, making it shinier and healthier, while the texture of the bristles bring volume to the hair.The comb was also a nice addition, and feels different from plastic combs, in that it feels more gentle. The comb seems to work best on wet hair (detangling it gently) while the brush works wonders on dry hair.Customer service was excellent; shipping was swift, and Dovalia sent personal messages to ensure customer satisfaction.Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking to give their hair some extra life and shine! While the price made me hesitant at first, the product proved to be well more than worth the purchase.

My hair is too curly for the brush, but the comb is the best quality I have found. Truly helps removing tangles without tearing your hair. I have bought other products (such as a large 'pick' and a comb with a handle), but they are not the quality of this comb. The others SAY they are 'infused', but do not do the smooth job this comb does.Do they make any other utinsels?

I was new to the boar bristle world when I looked for this brush. I ordered a few different ones and could definitely tell a difference in quality. One brush even had fake boar bristles. The seller was very helpful when she realized I had to return my first order (I originally ordered the 100 percent boar bristles instead of the combo one with nylon pins for thick hair like mine). This brush has definitely helped smooth my hair and through a combination of this and vitamins, I feel my hair is finally growing back to normal (I forgot to mention I went on a search for this brush after a disastrous haircut and my new hair stylist recommended a boar bristle brush. She said not to waste my money on any of the deep conditioning treatments , as this was the only “true” conditioner.) i also like that this is a small business because they actually put care and quality in their products. The only issue I have had is that the brush gets “clogged” very easily. I always clean my brushes after use, but this one takes more work—which I don’t think is a problem of the manufacturer, I think it s just the nature of the type of brush. The best part about this brush is the mini wood comb that comes with it . I love anything wood —although I’m particular about my wood. I love the color and feel of the comb and would definitely purchase on it s own!

I bought my brush about a month ago and so far, it has worked wonderfully despite my thick hair. The brush and comb had a chemical odor on opening, not pungent but noticeable. It appears to be no different from an average wood sealant (which is probably what it is). I cleaned both brush and comb before using and the smell diminished. I only notice it now if I sniff the back of the brush and even so it is not as strong as before. I suspect it will go away with a few more washes.Using the brush:Like I said I have thick hair. Being black my hair wraps itself into extra tight condensed spirals, almost like a spring. Getting any brush through it is difficult. To use this brush, I divide my hair small sections about a millimeter thick or a twelfth of an inch, after detangling. I tend to give each section 3-5 strokes (sorry Papa but I'm making it to 10). It takes a long time, so I make it my alone time active or do it while watching the television.Results:I have found the end results to be worth it. I am now down to hair routine which involves two products, from six, thanks to brush. My hair is shines and is softer, less stiff and I use far less oil.Suggestion:If you have curls or coils or even dry damaged hair you may want to use smaller sections. It will take longer but it is likely to work better.They (Dovahlia) have a new brush for thick hair so I am switching to it and give this one to my child. It is gentle enough that he doesn't fuss when I use it.Overall, I really like this brush. It is light weight well-made and yes the wooden base got me. I don't have to worry about it snapping in my hand after a few uses. Plus, it is beautifully packaged. I would and have recommended it.
