🔎 The Helly Hansen Workwear Unisex Gale Jacket is a true workhorse of a jacket. Comes in a simple plastic bag, nicely folded, with some tags and care instructions. 🧡 I love the quality of this jacket, it is a great fit for me( I bought size S, and I am 171cm tall with a weight of around 71kg ). The fit - I would describe it as "well fitted, snug", but not too tight. I absolutely love the neoprene cuffs... they 100% prevent any water from going inside the sleeve, and keep the warmth inside! The chest pocket( next to the zipper ) is great for keys, mobile phones, or important documents. The two pockets at the front bottom of the jacket are also great and with a soft lining inside. The hood is big enough to accommodate ear defenders and has an adjustment on each side. The front mouth guard is very useful( the jacket offers great protection in heavy rain. The jacket is made out of good quality, robust material. Does not absorb water so easy to keep clean, and dries fast. And the most important part - this jacket is 100% waterproof ! No matter how heavy rain you have to combat, it will keep you dry. 👎 I would love to have a slightly bigger hood. It would be great to have a "volume reducer" - an additional third elastic cord adjustable from the back of the hood, to prevent the hood from obstructing your view, when needed. Due to the fabric used, it is not breathable, so not good for heavy work, as you will sweat inside a lot. ⏳ I've been using it for some time now and it's the best waterproof jacket for work purposes I have ever had. Bought mainly for using a professional Karcher cleaner, but also for gardening work. 💡 I've paired it with a matching Helly Hansen Gala bib pants to have a fully waterproof set for work. Perhaps not the most stylish garment -- it is, after all, "workwear" -- but otherwise really excellent. It is, exactly as claimed, "waterproof [I mean, _seriously_ waterproof], lightweight, durable". Nice big pockets with flaps that really keep things dry. Hood and drawstrings all good. This feels like a product that's evolved to meet the most demanding work use, so for my slightly less demanding needs it's superb.

I work at sea but the jacket I'm provided with has no pockets which is no use for carrying tools etc. I bought this myself and would definitely recommend this to anyone who works at sea requiring an oilskin jacket as you have the same protection from the wind and rain but have the benefit of three pockets for carrying items Don't buy this jacket expecting it to be breathable as it won't be, I previously used goretex jackets which provided breathability and waterproofness to a certain point but if the rain was heavy enough they always let water in, there are no issues like that with this jacket

Perfect fit. Bought a XL since I wear XL jumpers in hope that it would fit over the top, it fits comfortably over the top and also Isn’t too baggy without a jumper on either. Would recommend you just get the same size as what you wear in jumpers. Very well made and definitely worth the money

I have 3 colours in this jacket. It is excellent quality. Keeps me dry when walking my dogs. I got an XLarge and this allows me to wear a sweatshirt underneath. Absolutely love these jackets.

Bought for proper deluges and driving rain for coastal cycles and walks. I've owned gore-tex pro jackets and they wet out and over time DWR coating loses effectiveness even with re-coating. This jacket is completely waterproof, the PU membrane is environmentally a lot better than pvc/dwr chemicals; and it actually has a nice soft feel, no rustling. Seams are solid doesn't feel like this jacket could tear. The inner membrane makes it comfortable next to the skin (unlike traditional rubber jackets), the phone pocket is well located within the storm-flap for protection but accessible. With the neoprene cuffs can be used for kayaking as water ingress is prevented (velcro sleeve cuffs would make it even better though). The hood has quite a small top-flap but if using this in some really adverse conditions wearing a baseball cap under the hood is something which I do anyway; with the adjusters and the collar you can properly seal yourself in from the elements. Perhaps a couple of hand-warmer zipper-type pockets would make this jacket even better (though would also make it closer to the £100 mark). I use this jacket at the point where internal sweating isn't even a factor because it is raining so heavily. While a bit 'fisherman-ish' it isn't too shiny and smart enough to wear in town or to work. And the absolute best bit is trusting that you will be completely dry for a very reasonable cost. Have ordered the trousers too now, backing Helly Hansen quality.

Useless. For walking to a bar once in a while maybe. Too thin, you can't touch it it will rip. Have your scotch tape with you if you decide to keep it. £90 it's a joke. And black is dark blue.

Best rain jacket I’ve ever had. I’m wearing it in TORRENTIAL downpours for 7 hours a day, non-stop, and I’m bone dry. That’s not possible in even the best jackets from Arcteryx or Patagonia. It’s comfortable and easy to move in. The hood is huge which allows you to stay fully zipped up and still able to sling it on. Yet you can tighten it as well. The cuffs are an ingenious design I’ve never seen before that traps out water pouring in while staying comfortable. Quite material unlike gortex. The list goes on and on. 10 stars from me.
