Flint is a solid entry in the Classified line, not the highest highs but no major fumbles
Flint is another solid addition to the Classified line. With Flint it's obvious Hasbro has started to change course away from the bright sci-fi elements of the first waves, he strikes a good balance but hopefully isn't the harbinger of the line swinging too far the other way. Here's what you need to know about this figure:- Flint reuses the Duke body, the new paint scheme, body armor, and new belt do a lot to make it feel unique.- The permanent body armor limits the use of mid-torso articulation and blocks the hole in the back.- The body armor on the lower back has a small holster for the shotgun that's set at a permanent angle that's a bit awkward.- His likeness has a bit of a smile to it that seems less cocky and more "I sure do like these cookies!" He also sports a sculpted and painted scar across his left eye but the cookies expression continues regardless.- Flint has the same small pistol and holster as Duke, now in very dark gray. The holster continues to spin around unless you wedge it onto the pocket.- The beret snaps onto the hair smartly and stays in place, no troubles at all. The hairstyle under the hat is a touch floppy and young for the character, but the fade on the side looks good.- The shotgun accessory is pretty decent, he can hold it in either hand. Having it hinged for breech loading makes no sense since it's got a slide, but it's easy to ignore or treat as a way to compact the gun on his back. There's no peg anywhere like previous Classified weapons.- This figure makes great use of paint, from the camouflage pants to the brassy-topped shells all over the vest and shotgun, even the two belt buckles with unique styles, Flint feels at home in his design.- It does feel like he could have used one more accessory like a backpack, seems like that budget got eaten up by the two-piece shotgun that should have been solid.

Good Figure but a little light on accessories
Flint is a decent figure. He is from that transitional point in the GI Joe Classified line when they went from the initial release overly SciFi aesthetic that everybody hated, to the more recent take where they look like modern/near future fighting forces that also well reference the original characters. Flint sits right astride that changeover.Flint is sporting the initial release Duke Body, same Torso, Legs, Hips and arms. Just with a black shirt and cammo pants. He does have a soft rubber Plate Carrier chest armor piece that is nicely detailed and makes him seem completely different from Duke. He also has a different belt then Duke. Although they both have the same thigh holster and sidearm.Flints only other accessories are his strange oversized shotgun weapon and his beret. The shotgun has a holster/sling on his back. For some strange reason the gun holder is glued in place and cannot be moved or removed. (It might be part of the Plate Carrier armor). This means he cannot use a backpack or other back mounted device such as a Jetpack. His Beret is a deep dark green, almost black, with a nicely painted infantry badge. The weirdest thing with GI Joe figures. I have for GI Joe Classified figures that have Beret's. And as near as I can tell, each beret is a different mold. None are the same shape. It's weird. You would think that would be an easy to reuse part?Overall he's a good figure of a core important character. But the figure is limited by the strange decision to glue his shotgun holster in place.

Flint: The Man. The Myth. The Rhodes Scholar
I tried so hard to stay away from this line because I'm a 4in buyer. I do diocomics and all my stuff is in 1:18 scale. Don't get me wrong, the Classified series looks sharp. Even if you don't like the character getting the 6in treatment, they still look tight. Now, I give an average score for durability cuz frankly, I have no idea how these handle wear & tear. Will the joints loosen after a couple weeks? Will the paint apps wear off like a certain blue masked dude from the 80s where his chest sigil disappeared quickly?Flint was the 1st figure to catch my eye. Even saw him in the store at one point with Cobra Commander and Lady Jaye. Eventually I made the dive and got him. I had bought Snake Eyes and Scarlett near original release and was not happy with 'em. Fortunately, the next wave (or so) did a better job with things. The design is a slight upgrade from his 80s look; he's still familiar looking. He gets a cool holder for his shotgun and the beret fits snugly. Articulation is tight but not "pose and break" tight.Personally, for $20 (or more), these figures should come with more. Keep in mind, us old folks remember when GI Joe went Sigma scale (8in) and for $15, you got a figure, a ton of gear and an awesome 'weapons' case. For $10, you got the same scale figure and sometimes more gear. I don't care if Classified has more detailing and paint apps, the msrp on these are questionable to me. Regardless, Flint's a good figure and worth adding to a collection.

G.I.JOE FLINT
My all time favorite characters and a good figure I just think he should come with more stuff besides his shotgun and beret. Oh yes he also has a pistol.

Surprisingly good...get one before you can't.
I did a review for Lady Jaye that released along with this figure. Both are very well done. Articulation is a little stiff, just work the joints carefully until they loosen. Paint is very good. In my opinion these 2 figures are the very best in regard to keeping with the original Joes. I am not really a fan of the first 2 waves of the classified line with the gold armor details and nonsense weapons. This Flint figure has great articulation and stands well. He can hold his shotgun with both hands and comes with a armor vest, beret, and handgun that fits into the thigh holster. This figure is great and I hope Hasbro keeps this style going foward. Get it at MSRP while you can. Even at scalper prices this figure would be worth it.
