Japanese Futon Mattress, Made in Japan Full (55"×78") White, Foldable Floor Lounger Bed Tatami Mat, Roll Up Sleeping Pad, Shikibuton

I received this product and immediately tried it as a futon. Despite its thin appearance, the balance between firmness and softness was just right, and I didn't feel any strain on my body while sleeping. When actually sleeping, I laid it on top of a carpet. Whether laid directly on the floor like in Japan or used with a bed frame, it seems comfortable to sleep on either way. The size is Twin (100cm x 200cm), so it's a perfect size for one adult and one child to sleep on. My child also liked this new, fluffy futon. This futon is made in Japan, with very beautiful stitching and no fraying or damage. However, since it cannot be washed or dried, I plan to use a waterproof bed cover to prevent it from getting dirty.

bought this to replace and old extra firm mattress that was starting to give away in the middle and lose support. thin enough to feel flat surface underneath but padded enough that protruding joints/bones arent uncomfortable. way more economical than traditional mattress and much easier to store/move but keep in mind that it needs to be aired regularly to avoid mold especially if it's being used on floor. arrived clean and vacuum sealed with no residual smell. delivered by ups which wasnt a great experience as they kept pushing the delivery date back, ended up having to go to facility and pick it up. not the seller's fault though. if youre looking for a soft/medium mattress this is not the product for you. however if youre used to extra firm or sleep on the foor already this is a great product.

Amazing Japanese mattress!! I have been sleeping on floor mattresses for over 10 years. This futon took comfort to the next level and made for a happy sleep！ Folds up super easily. Very well made. Very comfortable. Very portable. The twin size is just the right size for one person to put on the zipper cover (sold separately). If you want more bed space, buy two twin sizes instead of the larger size and you'll have a wider space. I’m very happy. I wish I had known about this product sooner. If you have back pain like me, sleeping on a futon will help relieve joint/back/hip pain. If you are feeling unwell, we recommend sleeping on a futon instead of a bed.

comfy, but it had such a smell that I had to air out for a week or two. A strong chemical smell was present when I first bought it. Overall, comfortable on top of a squeaky firm twin mattress. Helped my quality of sleep.

Absolutely garbage. When I opened the box, I noticed item wasn’t shrink wrapped. It was obviously a return they decided to resell, and it’s not even an inch thick. I can’t return it fast enough. Seller should be ashamed of themselves.

The mattress needs few days to decompress. It smells funny but smell goes away. My first thought after using it was "it is to thin". I am 170cm tall and skinny and I am used to sleep on very hard mattresses, but mattresses are much thicker than this futon. Maybe a little bit of fat would be helpful. Also, I am not using any mat underneath. I believe any camping/gym mat will solve this problem. Nevertheless I have kept using it and now I do not notice this as much as at the beginning. I am happy with its thickness, I can roll it and put duvet on it and it doesn't pile into 2m tall tower. I recommend buying cover as well. I you are heavy I would suggest to look for something thicker, as it might be too hard for you.

I bought this futon years ago and still use it. I highly recommend it but be realistic this is not a regular mattress (it will be softly-hard). I do like it comes with a protector bed sheet that seems to be cotton (not synthetic).

Seems like a comfortable mattress. Smells fine too. But it's covered in quite a bit of cat hair, especially on one side of the mattress. Brown and black hair of medium length. I like cats - I just prefer to meet the cats before inviting them into my bed. I'm returning this.
