Victorinox Swiss Classic Foldable Paring Knife, Wavy Edge Black 4.3 in

We recently did a 10 day northern CA coast road trip vacation through the Redwoods. We packed a small cutting board and put this knife in our checked luggage (TSA will confiscate it if you try to carry it on board). Upon arrival in Oakland we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some apples, avocados and bananas and a jar of peanut butter and away we went. Every day of our magical journey, and on many hikes through ancient old growth forests we paused along rivers and in the woods for a lunch snack. This knife was perfect, very lightweight, yet incredibly sturdy, nice and sharp with a fine serrated blade. Loved that it has a "locking" folding mechanism and cleaned up easily. Probably one the most useful travel items we had on the trip in all honesty. Would be great for making and cutting sandwiches too, although we don't eat bread ourselves. It sliced through big apples with ease. Highly recommend!

You read the title, made in Switzerland, not China. This folding knife is a steal at this price. Is it the most beautiful knife ever made? No, of course not, not by a long shot. It has a plastic handle and a round tip that makes it look like a butterknife. But you know what is does exceedingly well? It cuts steaks like nobody’s business. This serrated Swiss-made knife is super sharp. I own a couple of Victorinox knives, mainly my bread knife and large all purpose knife. Victorinox are high quality knives. Well, this little folding one is perfect for my personal steak knife. I just bought one to test it out. I will definitely get a few more to make a set out of it for the rest of the family and guests. Don’t think about it: BUY IT!!!

Awesome knife I keep around for cutting my apples or other fruits. Was looking for something I can fold and keep in my bag, this is the perfect knife for that. It came plenty shaper and looks to be durable for many years of use

A light weight paring/steak knife. Not made for hard or daily use. I find it handy to carry. It's 5 inches in length closed. A liner lock that's easy to operated. Wish a soft case was included. In my opinion, a good value. I bought a second for a friend.

Victorinox steel is great, and the this knife is no exception. It is sharp right out of the box, and maintains its sharpness for a long time. It is ideal for cutting sandwiches, bread and pastries, but also works well with tomatoes and other vegetables. It cuts easily without smashing the bread. Relatively inexpensive (some sources and colors are cheaper than others) and a great addition for a knife on the go, or in your lunchbox, or for camping. I bought several for about $20 to $21 each. Now a little higher. If you don't need or want the folding feature, there is a non-folding version for about half the price.

In the past when staying in a hotel I would want a knife for cutting food and the only thing the hotel would have available was a cheap plastic knife that breaks when you use it. I now keep this knife in my travel bag, and it works great. It's safe in my bag as it is folded with the sharp edge protected. The blade is made of a good stainless steel that is very sharp.

Wow, have a couple Victorinox knives. But never thought about them as a steak knife until now. They fold up and snap into it. Opening the knife snaps in place solid like it is a full tang knife. No play at all. And closing it will snap back into handle solid. Sharper than any steak knife I have ever had. Considering ordering five more. They're not beautiful, but not ugly. Picture for comparison. I originally bought one for dining out because resturant steak knives sometimes just don't cut it. Yes pun intended. Lol. If this knife doesn't. Pay the tab and go somewhere else. Surprised when open how solid it is. Like I said, feels like a full tang knife.

En sintonía con el rojo con filo liso que también he comprado, y del cual también he opinado. Un muy práctico cuchillo, el más típico de mesa con punta roma (mejor para untar, y también mucho menos intimidante si también se prefiere) pero plegable. Esta vez, con filo serrado (o perlado, que también le dice la marca), más apropiado para cortar alimentos que pueden embotar antes un buen filo liso, como pan, o la piel de algunos frutos como el tomate. Pero como ya he opinado sobre el de filo liso, a mí también me parece una alternativa más civilizada a muchas navajas, siempre que sea sobre todo para comer , y si acaso tener que cortar (nada de forcejear, sólo, cortar) pues algún cordel, un sobre rebelde de abrirse, algún precinto, blister y cartón... cosas para las que tampoco necesitamos contar con una punta afilada. Pero sí contamos en este invento un tamaño más adecuado para comer, merendar, o cortar más cómodamente alguna fruta u hortaliza. Vamos, que sin olvidar su enfoque principal, lo veo muy polivalente y más seguro para situaciones más civilizadas, que una navaja de similar longitud de hoja. A pesar de que estamos a priori al límite de legalidad para el porte en España, pues tiene literalmente 11 cm de hoja (unos 10 cm son de filo útil). De hecho he comprado uno de estos con filo serrado, precisamente para un uso más despreocupado si un día es el que llevo pero surge tener que usarlo como herramienta de corte. Los filos serrados de Victorinox cortan muchísimo, y a la vez es de los más sencillos y agradecidos de reafilar llegado el momento. Mientras que a su vez por ser serrados, aguantan mejor el afilado en el tiempo cortando según qué cosas que un filo liso. Cerrado mide lo que el mango, unos 13 cm. Bastante ergonómico y seguro de usar. También tiene pinta de ser muy duradero. Por contra no es voluminoso y es muy ligero. Vamos, que no da la sensación ni a la vista de "cuchillaco" que sí dan otros cuchillos de mismo largo de hoja, o incluso navajas que parecen ser más grandes aunque sean realmente tengan hojas 3-5 cm más cortas que la de este civilizado cuchillo plegable. Me parece que han logrado en Victorinox con estos cuchillos plegables unos elementos más polivalentes en el día a día y más en según qué ambientes, de lo que sugiere su innegable enfoque: el de la comida, un "pic-nic". El cual salta a la vista que lo cumplen con más que solvencia. Al final del recorrido de plegado de la hoja, tienen una posición de parada con cierta resistencia. Aunque es complicado que suceda, pero procurad no tener en ese momento ningún dedo bajo el filo (¡mientras vais empujando la hoja durante el mayor recorrido de plegado, que es sin muelle, tampoco!) Que tras vencer ese punto de resistencia sí será un muelle el que termine de meter la hoja en el mango, tirando de ella. Es el mismo muelle que retiene la hoja mientras está plegada para evitar sustos por aberturas parciales y accidentales. Estos cuchillitos plegables son una chulada, la verdad. Me han gustado. ☺️

Je suis très satisfait de ce petit Victorinox Swiss Classic. Sa lame crantée est incroyablement tranchante, permet de couper les tomates, par exemple, sans les écraser. La prise en main est confortable et la poignée offre une bonne adhérence. De plus, la lame est facile à nettoyer et reste affûtée après de nombreuses utilisations. Je recommande ce couteau à tous les passionnés de cuisine pour son excellent rapport qualité-prix ! (ayant bénéficié d’une légère promo, le faisant passer à 16 euros, j’en ai profité pour prendre ce coloris que je n’avais pas encore :)))
