Brilliant bit of kit!
I bought this digital microscope, after having first purchased a cheeper smaller version that I was happy with, but then thought I would go for one with a bigger screen and additional lighting and I have to say I'm very impressed. (I'm keeping the smaller cheeper one as a standby)One review commented on air bubbles on the screen, but this is just due to the screen protection film not being seated correctly, and easily rectified. This larger model seems to have a greater depth of field, making it ideal for the fine engraving and sculpting work I bought it for.Another advantage over the cheeper version is the fact you are able to tilt the rise and fall column back and fourth to optimize the work area. One thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned in the description is the fact that you can also tilt, and horizontally rotate the screen, a feature I find very helpful. The brightness of both the above and side LED lighting are independently adjustable, which is another good feature. The fact that it's not battery powered is not an issue for me. It came with the relevant UK three pin plug, and controlled either viar buttons below the screen, and/or the infrared remote control (that doesn't come with batteries). The remote control on the power lead only controls the screen on/off and brightness of the side lighting. The digital zoom features is great, but probably providing far more magnification than I'll ever need. The base is very sturdy and we'll constructed.I will definitely be recommending this digital microscope to friends.

"Does what is says on the tin"
On the whole a good piece of kit which does what I want it to. Could be a little bit sturdier, a bit plasticky but value for money. The only real gripe is that it doesn't make a "click" sound to let you know it has taken a photo. Would buy again

Really good so far
Used for soldering small parts. The ability to increase or decrease the magnification level just by moving the camera up and down and refocusing is very useful. Takes a bit of practice to solder whilst watching a screen, but there's no lag in the picture so it becomes quite natural after a few minutes. Managed to successfully solder 20 pin SOIC and even a 28 pin SSOP which I very much doubt I could do without it. The stand is well made and sturdy and the extra lighting works well. Screen is clear. Overall, a very useful item that works well.

Great value.
Great picture quality. You just need to get the lighting correct and the angle of the scope correct to minimise any glare which takes about 10 seconds max to setup. The default settings (except the side spots brightness which needed lowering) worked great. This scope is perfect in every way for SMD work and no need to spend a penny more. The ability to change the scope tilt angle, move and adjust the brightness of the side spots, have a protective filter (to stop flux smoke coating the lens), large screen, quality rigid construction are essential requirements all of which this scope has but many others do not. Good depth of field which means that your soldering iron tip is nicely in focus as well as the component. Note this scope does not recognise ExFAT SD cards but once the remote has batteries in you can format the card to fix this. The attached picture from the SD card was taken with all the settings at default as I could not see how it could, or needed, to be improved. Great scope!

The clearance between lens and the support pillar is too small.only good for phones.
I bought this for PCB rework. The view is reasonable but the lens to support distance is too small for any use other than small phone PCBs.Also the clearance lens to PCB is tight for hot air rework. Cheap enough but if it is no use it is not a bargain!!trying to return it but Amazon process is really not easy!

OUTSTANDING
great scope which I use for watch repair/inspection. Truly life changing for this type of work. The magnification and clarity are superb

Needs a remote
I love the size of the screen but it definitely needs a remote control. It's very difficult to see the buttons on the screen because they blend in while they are also black in colour. I purchased another Andonstar microscope that came with a remote and found not only did the remote work equally the same with both microscopes, but it made it much easier to use and navigate through the menu. Unfortunately they do not sell the remotes separately, so I would recommend purchasing one that comes with a remote. While this microscope is fun to use, I find the picture to be rather pixelated and the colours of the photos are a bit off.
