First, approximate large pellet sizes: sticks are in the 3/4" x 1/4" range, biscuits are around 1" x 1/2". Content: the larger parrot pellets have more protein than the tiny ones, they are not all the same. Next, the smell. No the food does NOT "stink". No it does NOT smell like nail polish remover (or maybe we need to find that polish remover?). IT SMELLS LIKE BUBBLE-GUM. The smell is very strong, so strong some may consider it sort of chemical-like (and would say the same about bubble gum). So strong in fact we had our doubts our parrot would like it... BUT it turns out our umbrella cockatoo loves these. WAY more than any other pellets we've tried. Like WAY WAY more. Prior to this the only pellet she would consider was Lafeber classic, and only if it was soaked in water first. She happily eats Hagen Sticks dry. Chomp chomp chomp. Hagen pellets have a reputation for being a high quality food, and although the potency caught us completely off guard, it smells pretty good. If you look at the reviews, it seems like cockatoos accept the pellets more often than macaws. Each parrot is different and food changes can take a while for parrots, but ours dove into these pellets immediately. You will probably know right away whether your parrot likes them or not.

They are it but not very well. They are picky. Seemed perfect but they like other pellets better.

The 20 lb. bag is the best deal. Cockatiels love it ! The sun conure also eats it. It took the birds a day or 2 to try it but once they did, now they eat it. This is a healthy alternative to seeds.

Had to buy for cockatiels as the 2mm granules were out of stock everywhere. I just crushed them up smaller, left some sticks as they can hold in their feet. They love it, it’s great to change up shapes of food for them as it encouraged them to eat more of the "good stuff". Best Buy date was over a year out and has a wonderful smell.

Opened up the bag and egads..what a strong, overwhelming smell! Have been feeding my 38 yr old Macaw Zupreme for years..fruit and veggie all smell so GOOD! This stuff just STINKS...no thanks..worried what's in it and in my birds health.. Can't understand how some reviews says it smells good..unless those of us writing reviews that it's horrbile recieved BAD products! Either way..I am throwing it in the garbage.

Its ok butlooking for weaning pellets. Its a little different

Having several parrots, food is bought is as large a quantity as possible. It's expensive up front but save me about $90 a year. Wasn't able to put in the usual order for a number of months - just using smaller bags and feeding fresh fruits, veggies and nuts. When my macaws saw that bowl of Hagen Tropican coming towards them & they got a whiff of it they both immediately began blushing, their eyes began pinning (a sign of excitement) and saying, "Want some? Want some?" Neither of them wasted any time getting their head in the bowl. As they began eating they were bobbing their heads up & down saying, "Ummm good. Yummy! Yummy!" They've gotten this excited over a new toy or some special comfort food I whipped up for them but none of the other name brand parrot food I'd been getting when we ran out of Hagen Tropican. I feed my parrots everything healthy thing under the sun that's appropriate for them but the Tropican Parrot sticks are the icing on the nutrition "cake".

Has everything my African Grey parrot needs , one bag will last him about 5 weeks , I give greens , dry pasta and a cookie with the Tropicana biscuits

Great product, really good for our conures and lasts ages. Smells really nice too, a bit like cinnamon. Parrots really live this to nibble on.

Il sapore personalmente non lo conosco però il mio pappagallo ne va ghiotto e per la prima volta, cambiando il mangime, non ha creato problemi di rifiuto, anzi! Anche gli ingredienti sono di ottima qualità. Ha un ottimo profumo e la spedizione corretta
