Absolutely perfect under garment for the winter months. Amazingly striking a balance between thinness and warmth. I wear a lot of natural fibres and found the wool content if these to be extremely effective.I like the three quarter length, it gives good scope for teaming these with very thick wooly socks for extra warmth.I had no problem in wearing these under jeans, and even wore them like tights under a skirt. They run true to size, and keep their shape well after washing.

The three quarter length is very handy for those who need to keep their base layer away from moisture or who could unpleasantly overheat. That means cyclists, some skiers (a preference), some mountaineers who wear heavy gaiters (therefore already insulating that last quarter), and anybody who gets hot in wellington boots. My daughter is a mountain biker at national standard, who trains in all weathers and many places including Alpine black ski runs! She finds these to be ideal when she needs to be warm when still but not soaked with sweat when in motion.The weave is very durable and very breathable. Not really an outer layer. The wind will cut right through....But a super base layer.
