Decker Kitchenware 18 Inch Aluminum Magnetic Knife Strip for Kitchen Knives and Scissors - Professional and Multi-purpose Knife Holder

I do not like clutter on the counters so I ordered the Decker magnetic knife strip to replace my butcher block knife block. I mounted it on the inside of the pantry door. The door is held closed with a magnet and the knife strip has held perfectly with the pulling of opening and closing. All of my knives and kitchen scissors fit great and now I want another one for my craft scissors and supplies. My husband wants one for his smaller tools in the garage. This is such a great product I only wish I had purchased it sooner.

The magnetic strip is too small and set too far back, so it has a hard time holding knives. They will fall if you bump them near the top or bottom (but won't just fall off without some human intervention), so I'm glad this was going under a cupboard. However, this means the magnet isn't touching the knives, which is good for discouraging rust. The attachment bits on the back do not fit the included screws well, making it a little difficult to get mounted.

Installed easily by my son. Securely holding 5 knives, kitchen shears and a microplane grater. Still leaves room for 2 other knives. Love it. Keeps the knives on wall where they are easily accessible and I don't have to dig them out of a drawer, no counter space wasted on a knife block. Have never had any of them fall off.

The mounting "hardware" is completely inadequate. The magnet strip does not stay on the wall. Even when I went online to find mounting instructions, they didn't help. I returned it and will order one with two holes for easy (and secure) mounting.

It's a good product, but I should have read the reviews about it being used on a refrigerator, it can only be screw into a surface, so I had to return it for a refund. But I like the 18" size, holds a complete set of knives.

exactly what I needed to clear off my counters love it, was a little difficult to install because there was no instructions but we did get it figured out.

No directions with product used the marginal ones on line. Product falls off the little devices supplied - installed two extra mollies at each end to keep it against the wall - holding brackets need total redesign.

It was easy to put up, is powerful enough to hold our cleavers, and goes great with our stainless steel appliances. We bought a second one!
