yes ,it has a plastic nut that you can tighten with you fingers on the hand crank side

Q: Can I use a 100’ reel with a 50’ hose?

I don’t see why not it might be either flush with the reel or just above it.... I have a 50’ hose on mine and it does not fill the hose reel, I could’ve gone 75’ or even the 100’ and it would’ve been perfect
