DA29-00020B Refrigerator Water Filter, Compatible with Samsung Refrigerator Water Filter

Update after 4 months: not many people bother to provide updates after their review, unless it is a bad update. So, I am going an extra mile for you, my fellow shopper. I’ve had ZERO problems with this filter after installation. It works as it should and filters my water, no leaks, no issues.Original review: Okay, I couldnt pull a trigger on buying a filter for long 3 years after buying Samsung fridge because I’ve seen so many reviews claiming all of them are crap, all of them leak, dont fit and so on and so on. Excess of information can sometimes be worse than the absence of information. Especially when reviewers dont bother to keep sufficient level of details about what they bought and for which appliance. Let me tell you - this particular filter DOES work for my particular fridge. It does not look identical to the one that came with the fridge, on the photo - my original on the left, this new original on the right. But, despite small differences, it does work and does not leak. At least so far, knocking on wood. The model of filter is labeled as HAF-CIN/EXP, “replacement cartridge” is “DA-2900020B” these two markings are identical to the ones found on my older filter. what’s different is this: the new labeled as “for use in system DA97-08006A-E”, while my older was “for use in system DA97-00020B”. I was expecting problem, but there is no issues. Samsung is really doing terrible job with marking these filters. Three different types of IDs? Really? Everything to get you confused. But if you have fridge model RF263TEAESG that I have - dont worry, this filter will work all right. Make sure your water pressure does not exceed 125PSI - that’a what this filter is rated for. I have reducer on my house inlet so I dont worry about overpressure, most people dont

The filter was easy to install and seems to be doing good job of filtering.

My Samsung (2015 model) was freezing the refrigerator side. I ignored the filter warnings to replace because we dont use much water from the door. Had to have a service call to see what was causing the temperature problems. IT WAS THE FILTER! I was even about the replace the whole fridge!!!

Due to a class action lawsuit against Samsung for faulty icemakers in their Samsung brand refrigerator freezers if you call the 800 number for Samsung inside the door of your Samsung refrigerator freezer and for them to replace your icemaker if it’s not working, they will replace it for free. When the service came out from Samsung, he recommended that I start using a Samsung water filter which I had been using the Home Depot brand water filter, in lieu of the Samsung water filter. So for $37 on Amazon I ordered a Samsung water filter for our Samsung refrigerator freezer and it seems to produce ice much better as well as the water tastes much cleaner. The Samsung service man told me that using a Samsung brand water filter should help increase the life of the new icemaker that he installed as well. The Samsung service man told me that the faulty design was due to the location and position of the Icemaker , which has a gap between the backside of the icemaker and the inside wall of the refrigerator which allows for condensation to build every time the Refrigerator Door is Opened & Warmer Air Enters, which causes the Samsung icemakers to eventually freeze up. Therefore, I decided to install my own insulation around that gap in hopes that the insulation will keep condensation from forming on the backside of our new Samsung Icemaker.I hope this info helps.And good luck!
