Ok, can't speak to durability yet. too new. Diamond sharpener is ovel shaped seems to be well made and is between medium and fine grit, ie good for most sharpening. This seems just as nice as the one in my kitchen which I've had for years and swear by. This one is for the barn and work tools. Already sharpened several clippers, loppers and machetes. It's done an outstanding job quickly. The shape fits curved blades well and handles both soft and harder steels well. ( I used dry but can always use a little water or dish soap) After sharpening a Japanese sickle, I sliced through wild rose like butter.Carbide sharpener is basic and works well. As a throw in item its handy to have. did a fine job on dull mower blades with a little practice

At first I was impressed at how good this sharpens. But after sharpening 3 of my knifes I noticed it wore down and on 4th knife it wasn't as effective on the same area. It's good for a limited use but please know it does wear down fast.

I really like this diamond sharpening steel. I sharpened all of my Henckel kitchen knives in a matter of a few minutes. The edges were not quite razor sharp but very close and I could probably have gotten them razor sharp if I had spent a little more time on them.
