Easy to set up and good value
I bought a new air rifle to assist in getting rid of rats around my chicken coops and whilst i got a couple with the aid of a light it was evident they were keeping out of the way so decided to look into a night vision option. I checked amazon and came across this option, so read the reviews that seemed helpful and ordered. The delivery was quick and as promised everything was in the box well wrapped and sturdy. Having read the reviews i found it really easy to set up, charged the batteries and that night off i went. Not used the video aspect yet but managed to get 6 rats who have no idea you are there. Once i use the video i will update but so far been impressed and seems a good budget value for money bit of kit.

GREAT!
Absolutely amazing! Our farm was being overrun by rats, and I was feeling pretty skeptical about this item. But let me tell you, it blew me away! The first night I put it to use, it worked like a charm. I couldn't believe my eyes! This little wonder not only sorted out my rat problem but also earned a solid 10 out of 10 in my books!

OK for the money
firstly for the money this is a good thing. I purchased the offer with the batteries /. charger and card so I had it all to start with. when setting up ensure you DO use the tape for the camera bracket as this will slip and not sit properly without it. I found for some reason the sights pull down when first using however a reset and not too bad. see photo of rat on fish pool this is from around 5 meters away so this shows how good the image is. my product for some reason will not hold date and time reverting back to 2017 every time restarting !!!! annoying but not the end of the world. batteries do not last long however should last a few hours before needing recharge.Overall a good product for home ratting at night - does a good job and would recommend but would also suggest getting a spotter camera to help out

A good product badly let down by very poor connectors
This purchase became a necessity because of an explosion of the rat population on our smallholding. My initial impression was of a quality product with a high standard of finish and presentation, coming as it does in a very neat black box. Even the batteries are branded”Megaorei” giving the impression of a much more expensive product. Fitting the unit to the scope (a BSA 3-9x40 AO in this case) was easy. Clamps to support the screen/battery unit are supplied to suit 25mm and 30mm scope tubes and the camera tube is supplied with 4 rings to allow it to clamp onto eyepieces between 38mm and 48mm diameter. Some tape is supplied to allow even smaller eyepieces to be accommodated. I found that the camera tube slid rather too easily on my scope but this was greatly improved by wrapping a layer of self-amalgamating rubber tape around the eyepiece for the tube clamp to sit on. The supplied 850nm IR light comes with a clamp to secure it to the scope tube. Again I found a wrap of self-amalgamating rubber tape to greatly improve the firmness of this fitting to the scope. The manual is printed in very small type but is all you need to get the thing installed and running. In use, I found, as others have commented, that the supplied IR light is so bright that, at close range (less than about 15 metres), the camera becomes saturated. Since there is no power adjustment possible on this light I simply used a couple of layers of 1mm thick packing foam as a diffuser in front of the light. This reduced the illumination to the point where operation down to 10 metres range was possible. There is a brightness control for the monitor in the menus but no contrast control. The brightness control has discrete setting (25%, 50%,75%, and 100%). I would like to have been able to reduce it below the 25% level to render myself less visible to the rats in the glow of the monitor. However, I'm going to fit a 3mm thick red acrylic filter over the screen as, apparently, rats don't see red very well. (Note to the manufacturers - adding a facility that turned the display to red in IR mode would be a useful additional feature)Slightly compensating for the lack of contrast control on the monitor I found that the contrast varies significantly depending on the viewing angle - from above the normal the contrast is reduced and below the normal it is increased. After a few hundred shots with the unit mounted on a spring-powered air rifle I started to experience the picture freezing when I fired. This got progressively worse until the source of the problem became apparent. The unit has two micro USB connectors - one from the monitor to the battery box and one from the camera to the battery box. The camera connector had become intermittent to the point where the slightest vibration caused the signal from the camera to fail. In the end I cut the connector off the camera cable, drilled an extra hole in the back of the monitor and wired the camera direct to the PCB in the monitor - not something I would recommend to someone without reasonable electronics and soldering capability.Perhaps this issue would not arise so quickly on a low-recoil PCP air rifle but I think the connectors are unsuitable for a spring rifle even of modest power (as mine is).One other minor issue was that the supplied micro SD card was non functional; neither the unit itself nor my PC saw it at all when inserted. With a functional SD card the recording facility works extremely well, helping me to identify that the occasional flyers were me and not the gun.

Fantastic value
This scope works great. Easy to install and easy to use - just remember the long push (couple of seconds) to turn on. I had some questions for the supplier and they were fantastic, very responsive. This really is great value for money.
