heat resistant glove
works well for stained glass. working with smaller pieces is much easier with the glove. You can feel heat through the glove but you'll feel it getting warm before it gets too hot to hold. Works great with metal rods and holding wire overlays in place.

Great gloves for soldering
I have started using these gloves for soldering projects and it is great since I do not have to worry about burning my hands. The gloves are easy to work with tools like needle nose pliers and soldering irons. I would recommend this product.

They do work.
As a plumber I have to solder sometimes piping up to 4 in. I had to do some large prefab work on 2-inch valves about a dozen of them and they had to be done one side at a time. I had to manipulate them why they were still 3 hundred or so degrees. This product was great for this application. I was able to pick up the large-diameter brass and copper heated assembly and the heat transfer was restricted considerably. They're pretty lightweight and I don't think the fabric is that strong so as far as long jevity goes I don't think it's there but if it keeps you from burning yourself one time how much is that worth? From that perspective I must recommend at the price point.

"Mildly Heat Resistant" is a better description!
I ordered these thinking that I could use them in cooking or possibly even in my steel heat treating. A pot holder works better. They would work OK for holding a soldering iron and that's it. I dropped the score one star because I think calling them "heat resistant" is not quite adequate. "Mildly heat resistant" is a more accurate term. The material is not very heat resistant. The heat resistance comes from the silicone beads on the surface. In my opinion, they are not spaced closely enough for most jobs requiring heat protection. Of course, if they were, the gloves would be too stiff. They are rated to 570F, but you can't hold onto anything that hot for very long. They would protect you from getting burned through an accidental touch on a hot grill or stove though. Try heating your gas grill up to 570 degrees F and use this glove to place your hand on the surface. I don't think you can do it for more than a second or two. They are probably intended for holding a Weller soldering iron and would probably work well for that. I do pyrography (woodburning) which uses an iron similar to a soldering iron, so will keep these gloves with my pyrography kit. I can hold onto my pyrography pen for a long time before it gets uncomfortable, so these gloves will help me to do pyrography for longer periods. They will also improve my grip. One thing I like about these gloves is that both gloves can be used on either hand. Also, I usually wear an extra-large glove, and these gloves are stretchy so they fit great.I won't use them around my grill or my heat treating furnace though!

Good for some uses
These are fairly heat resistant, but they're not heat-proof. These are great for BBQ-ing and moving hot pans or meats or whatever, where you'll be holding them for just a short period of time. They also work around a campfire for moving pieces of wood. They are mostly for resisting direct-contact heat, not radiant heat, so don't get too close to a fire with them.

Would not fit very large hands
The gloves are labeled for up to 572°F. They have a gender neutral color theme. I have a smaller woman’s hand and they are marked as one size. While I can see them fitting most, I cannot imagine they would fit very large hands. The gloves do provide great grip with the added nodes. As far as heat resistance goes I would classify them as acceptable. For my lighter use they provide enough barrier from the heat. They are comfortable to wear and have enough flexibility that I can move my hands easily with smaller object in my fingers.

These glove work fine for a few seconds of contact with high heat.
The Weller Heat Resistant Gloves claim heat resistance to 300C which is pretty hot. I tried them at 175C and my hands got hot after a few seconds. The gloves have little dots mad from a synthetic material that helps tools grip better. The size is a bit big for my medium men's hand. These gloves are not as thick as I expected. These glove work fine for a few seconds of contact with high heat.

Soldering Iron Yes! BBQ Glove No!
Yes, these work great for soldering, although to be honest I never really though I needed gloves for that. Maybe I don't do enough soldering. I got them as replacements for oven mitts. That they are not, so don't get them for that application! I fine them a little too bulky too work in for my taste so for now I will retire them in the toolbox for another day or application.
