Scotch Mounting, Fastening & Surface Protection 3M Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape, 1 by 60-Inch, Black (414P)

This is the second time I have bought this double sided tape. It is definitely heavy duty and sticks extremely well. It is the same type of tape used on car exteriors to attach door protectors and spoilers. It is a rubbery center which allows you to stretch it rather thin if you want without losing its adhesive property. It is not that easy to remove so I would recommend it as a permanent tape. It is resistant to water and dust/dirt. A good product to have on hand. You do not need to use much so 1 roll should last you a while fir home and car use. Much better product than other similar tapes which have a sponge center which is prone to water and dust and eventually loses its adhesicpve strength even when stored as a roll. This brand does not do this due to the strong adhesive and rubber center which is resistant to the environment regardless how long you have the roll.

Used this tape to mount a heavy chromed brass hand held shower head holder to the shower wall. The holder was intended to be attached to the wall with 3 screws. Seeing as I didn't want to drill holes in the tile to mount it, Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape is used instead. About 2 square inches of tape were used. Pressed it to a cleaned glossy flat title, let it sit for an hour or so, then installed the trim ring and hung the shower head. The shower head and mount probably weighs a pound or so. Tested it by trying to pull it off the tile, but stopped because I was afraid the tile was going to pull off the wall. It is sticking that well. So far, the high humidity conditions in the shower stall are not affecting it.I have used this mounting tape outdoors and it didn't fail even after 8 years or so.

This tape is great. It sticks, holds even comes off when needed. It will get most jobs done, 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars if it got all jobs done. Maybe the next version of this tape will do that. I found a few things it would not stick to well certain dash board plastics for example. Until I find something better, I will continue to buy this tape. I always have some around just in case I need double sided tape that really holds. I think you will like this tape. Especially if you have tried every other double sided tape and they all failed. Most are light duty made for attaching light things like a picture frame to a wall for example. this tape is made to hold much heavier items. If you have something that your using double sided tape on and your constantly reapplying the tape, try this tape, it works!

I also did not want to drill holes into the walls or attach anything that could never be removed. Especially since this is a rental house. So when I saw this tape I had to get it!!The tape is rated to hold up to 10 pounds and it hold true to itself. The tape is extremely easy to use and hold very well!!The only downside is trying to peel it off. Be best way to remove the tape is to use a heat gun or a hair dryer on really high and that usually makes it really easy to peel Other than that you might need a razor blade!!!!You get a really good amount! Wanted something to hold chrome logos to automobile. This stuff did the trick, chrome still attached over a year later. Only problem is I cant' decide weather to try and peel them off to see if it's lost any adhesion being out in the Texas weather, or to leave it alone until I notice any change in it's appearance. So far it's the "if ain't broke, don't fix it" approach.Since then I've used it for all kinds of mounting that I didn't want to come loose. Made a back-plate for a bathroom towel rack that pulled out the anchors. Used 3" circle of 1/2" plywood, painted it and stuck it to wall over the hole and had no problems since.If you are looking for permanent adhesion, this is your tape.

This stuff really does the job, I bought a fan hub that came with double sided 3M tape... well it didn't hold up very well, actually after a few days it really served no purpose anymore. In comes this beautiful tape. Not only does this stuff stick to any and all surfaces it holds whatever you stick to the 2nd adhesive side as well. Best part is it's a little stretchy, almost putty like without ripping and tearing away. You can easily tear off a section of what you need by hand, slap it on the surface, and bam done, good to go. Definitely recommend this stuff.

Scotch is a brand I know makes quality products and this worked so well even on a indoor wall that wasn’t smooth. I don’t mind paying more for something that I know will do the job and last. It’s hard to find durable mourning tape that holds higher pounds! Many people don’t read the actual weight of what it will hold and then they will be disappointed that the mounting tape they purchased doesn’t hold the item they wanted to hang up. I liked the fact that this held up the shelves, diplomas, art, and picture that I was hanging up. I had purchased a small roll at the drugstore so I knew it would work for me!

Completely useless! I used it to tape my magnet board on the wall. It held up for a few hours until it dropped on the floor in the middle of the night. The tape only managed to damage my wall from the tape.I also used it to tape a large picture frame with a glass. I used it the same day as the magnet board and my picture frame lasted until the next afternoon. No damage to the wall but it basically broke my frame. Not only did I waste money on this useless mounting tape but now I have to spend money to replace my frame.I also used it to tape a very light small painting. This one managed to stay up until the day after my picture frame dropped.I will not be buying again.
