Man has mid-life crisis; behaves really badly
No issues with delivery or anything like that. This book made me actively angry. This guy decides that he needs some time off from his life and goes off to Thailand to do whatever he likes while his wife is left holding the fort. For some reason, she doesn’t sling all his stuff out on the front lawn and have the divorce papers waiting for his return.*spoilers*I loathe the fact that she takes him back at the end. It makes me think that she has no self-respect and that I just wasted four hours of my time reading a story in which she doesn’t really develop at all. She needs to grow a backbone and tell her useless husband where to go.

Not convincing
Just does not make sense to me. This couple fully in love, then husband suddenly withdrawn and left, and wife having a fling with another man even earlier, but both of them still claimed they loved one another very much!! The beginning is kind ok but at the story goes on, there are just much 'add on' incidents as if just to make the book thicker, and none of those were convincing. Like an old hag (Amy's mother) became so well known through some Vlog.

A good read I couldn’t put down
Really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh, frustrated me, a few tears and the inevitable All comes good in the end, although I wasn’t convinced it would, or should have!! A couple of her books recently I have not enjoyed as much as this one. I enjoyed thislike I did with some of the earlier books like Lucy Sullivan, Watermelon and Rachel’s Holiday. I much prefer these longer stories by Marian Keyes than the shorter stories (under the duvet etc). Brightest Star and Charming Man I just couldn’t get into. More please. X

Not As Funny As Others Written By Marian Keyes
Have read all Marion Keyes books but this one made me smile less than others. I usually laugh aloud. Well written and worth reading but not a "Blizzard of wit and wisecracks" as described by The Times review. A few rarely used and long words may have swayed their reviewer. The subject of separation was covered with insight and characters seened believable. Still a great writer but this book was not as appealing to me.

Terrible
The worst book I’ve read in a long time, I was a Marian fan until reading this. I persevered with it in hope the storyline would actually go somewhere , really disappointed it didn’t. My advice, don’t waste your time or money on this one.
