Brilliant
Started to learn the piano 2 years ago, aged 67, and my teacher suggested Alfred's basic adult all in one level 1 and we have worked through that during that time. So now I am at level 2 and bought this one to continue my lessons with. They are so cleverly designed that they have you playing pieces very quickly, but it also includes theory pages so you can learn and understand values of notes, practising cords so that , when integrated within the next piece there is an understanding not only of the notes you are playing, but how they are played. Can't recommend these books enough, they are brilliant, and makes learning and practising an enjoyable confidence building pastime and you want to keep turning the page to see what the next piece is. Arrived very quickly, excellent price, 5+ stars.

This book is like a carrot dangled over the head of a donkey (I'm the donkey)
I highly recommend Books I and II. Alfred piano course is really good at setting loads of tiny incremental goals for you to aim for. You sort of master one skill then Alfred immediately raises the bar by introducing something new - you rarely get a chance to relax - there's always something new to learn. I personally really like that. I reckon that's why these 'Alfred's [Musical Instrument] Books for Beginners' have been bestsellers for over thirty years. I used 'Alfred's Piano Book I' to learn keyboard from scratch during Lockdown. I loved doing this. These Alfred books are the business. If someone's found something better, I'd like to know about it.

BRILLIANT
I learned basic piano as a child - on retiring fifty years later I was bought a piano to fulfill a life long wish of learning to play it better. Having found a piano teacher, he on listening to my ability recommended this book. It is brilliant. Having come in at the right level I found the first couple of pieces relatively easy which in turn gave me the appetite for more. Whatever your taste in music, this book will cater for it. It's wide variety of pieces makes it a very friendly and fun book. Such is my relationship with it, I have even ventured (and mastered) types of music that in the past did not appeal to me. The authors of this brilliant music book are to be applauded - for me it has led to a new, thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding pastime.

Great book to teach yourself
I highly recommend this book. I am using this book to teach myself piano (I do have music knowledge already). It starts off with easier pieces and gradually gets harder. The music is grouped in keys - C Major, E minor etc - giving you several different pieces to play with similar notes/chords before moving on to the next section. There's some theory and exercises to improve finger strength, agility and techniques. Am very impressed with this book and so far it's really helping my basic playing progress well.
