Install is not for the faint of heart. - Penn Battle II
Ordered this not know I had to drill out the riveted handle in the Penn Battle II. Fine, my bad. Then looked up some youtube videos and this page and saw you had to cut off the handle with a hack saw, and drill out the riveted handle. That's fine, I am fortunate enough to have these things at my place. Then I got the rivet out, and realized if you want the peg they send you that attaches to the handle to sit properly, you have to drill into the handle and enlarge the hole that is existing.I am happy with the final result, but the instructions provided were very poor, and locktite is going to be required as the bolt that holds the peg in comes loose frequently. but may want to put some more warning up here for people looking for a know for the Penn Battle II. Most people are not willing to start cutting and drilling into a $150 reel.Items needed for install on Penn II:- 2 #1 phillips head screwdrivers- Locktite- Hack Saw- Drill with quite a few drill bits (cant remember exact sizes used)- A steady hand, and a willingness to start cutting away at a $150 purchase.

Penn battle / spinnfisher Drilled application
I love theses power knobs , it’s true installing on a penn riveted style handle is not for the faint of heart but anyone with basic mechanical skills can install one of these, I see a lot of reviews about the handle screws backing out for starters you need to use lock tight red is my preference I also like to under size the drilled hole slightly and tap the shaft into the handle with a brass hammer or block of wood the will indefinitely stop the crew from backing out as it stops the any chances of the shaft from rotating . Do not lock tight the two knob halves together just get a really good grip with rubber gloves or paper towels and tighten it by hand. I never had one separate

The knob was easy to install after that and it fits perfectly
Be prepared to take a hack saw blade to your existing handle in order to install this knob. I used a drill press to drill out the remaining original riveted shaft starting with a small bit and working my way up to a 15/64" bit. The knob was easy to install after that and it fits perfectly. I installed this knob on a Daiwa BG 6500. It feels just as good or better as the factory knobs on my Penn slammers.

To complicated and not as strong as original knob
Got this w/o realizing how complicated installation could be. My bad - should have done more research for my BG Daiwa. Instructions that came with the knob are horrible.Watched plenty of youtube videos and after a couple of hours and a trip to local Home Depot for drill bits that could drill trough metal pin, I was finally able to complete an installation. Knob looked and felt great!Took it to the ocean - after some pressure and constant reeling, knob started to come loose and in the end, external screw was bent.Bottom line - looks great but performance wise it is pretty bad. Unless of course you are catching small fish, in which case it should be just fine.

Nice Knob Spinnfisher VI
So the knobs itself is very nice the directions however are not . You have to cut the old shaft off. It does not mention that anyplace . After you cut it off you need to drill the hole out. Start small and go bigger until it fits. Snug is better than loose! I ended up at 15/64th . You are going to want to use locktite on the screw that holds it to the handle. I was definitely nervous drilling my $150 reel but it was actually pretty simple. Start to finish took about 10 minutes . Make sure you drill the hole straight.
