Bakto Flavors Natural Caramel Flavor, 1 Fluid Ounce, Pack of 3

I have a recipe for brownies that calls for 'optional: caramel flavor'. Until I found this, I just left it out but when I found it on Amazon at a good price, I decided to try it. You would never say, 'oh there's caramel in here' but you might say 'wow! these are really good! what's your secret?'

A perfect flavoring for whipping cream or creamed cheese. I plan to use this flavoring in my caramel pie....I brown white sugar, but I still need more caramel flavoring.

Really happy with these flavorings. Excellent quality and taste. I would highly recommend them to others

Reading the description on Amazon I thought "Great! Natural caramel flavoring!" Wrong. While there are 'natural' ingredients in these caramel flavorings, according to the labels on the bottles I received, these also contain Propylene Glycol - not a natural product.The common misconception Propylene Glycol is Antifreeze! isn't exactly true; it's IN antifreeze, but supposedly safe for consumption in moderate amounts...but that isn't really what bothers me. I don't like that they market this as a natural product and list ALL of the ingredients in the product description - except for the unnatural product that results from a chemical conversion. Sneaky, sneaky.

I love Bakto flavorings, but this is my first disappointment. The alcohol punch in the face is worse than caramel extract. I ruined one recipe and thought I may have gotten a bad batch. Ordered a second bottle, opened it and took a whiff... WOWZER. The alcohol fumes were strong enough to knock out a rino. I've given up on this one. Watkins caramel extract isn't this strong.Love the rest of their line and I'll be back a hundred times for the other flavors, but the caramel is not happening again.Unless I need a caramel flavoring for an alcoholic party drink. That might work out very well, now that I think about it.

Flavoring has become very expensive and the glycerine based lack strong enough flavorCan use half the bottle in just one recipe.Not worth the price - although the vendor quality seems fine - they just haven't perfected getting sufficient flavor into this base

It's very difficult to make a fake caramel which doesn't taste "off" in some way or just taste like chemicals. This flavoring does very well at putting the taste of caramel in your mouth. Yes, you can tell it's not genuine... but it's not the awful fake caramel many of us have experience... it's somewhere in between the two extremes bordering nearer to the genuine caramel side than to the awful fake side.I would probably have given this flavoring 5 stars if it had been a bit stronger. I had to add a ton to my batch of icing for the flavor to carry and even then it wasn't very strong - just a hint.

Adds great flavor to my morning protein shake.
