I bought this for postpartum as I was having constipation issues even 2 weeks after having my baby. I could go a week without pooping and I wasn’t in pain, but it was concerning to me and I was sore enough down there so I didn’t want to add more hemorrhoids to the mix by straining to poop, so I knew I needed a laxative of some sort to coax things along more gently. Well all I can say is be careful with these! I thought since I was going a week between poops, that I should take 2 pills. I encourage you to start with 1! The first time I took 2, it wasn’t so bad. I had 1 bowel movement some hours later (maybe 6 hours?) and it was fine. I see now that I was lulled into a false sense of security. A week later I still needed help to poop again. I took another 2 like last time and, oh boy, did I have a tough time. I was up and down to the bathroom at least 5 times and my stomach was in shambles. I felt like I had self inflicted diarrhea. On top of caring for my newborn. I was carrying him into the bathroom in his bouncer with me every half hour, subjecting his innocent nose to Chernobyl levels of diarrhea. Not sure if it was something I ate along with the ExLax but I was regretting my decision to take 2 tablets, and was even googling how to reverse the side effects of laxatives (lol). This went on until late at night when I scarfed down a bunch of apple sauce and that seemed to help slow things down again! I would hate to be caught out in public when these pills kick in! You better find a bathroom QUICK!
