Luxury tiles
These tiles ate a delight to use. They are lovely to handle, easy to pick up and have enough colour to make them attractive.

High Quality Set. Read the description to see if it's right for you.
Help, I keep buying mahjong sets. This is one of my favourites.Firstly, for those that haven’t read the description properly-The set is not suitable for American mahjong because it doesn't have jokers. The set also doesn't come with racks or pushers. This is because it’s a Chinese style mahjong set and the tiles are chunky enough to stand on their own.Players of Japanese style mahjong might find the tiles a bit big, and a bit bright, compared to Japanese sets, also there are no red fives.Chinese players might find the tiles a bit small.Now...Too big? Too small? The tiles are actually 34 mm high, a nice compromise in my opinion. And Riichi players will want to know yes, you can fit them on a junk mat. The tiles have a good feel in the hand. They weigh18g each, and have enough ‘heft’ as you play. You get 148 tiles. The normal 136 , plus 8 flower and season tiles, and four blanks (which you could substitute for the white dragons if you want to make the set look more Japanese}. The tile fronts are white and shiny, with bright reds, greens and blues, and no imperfections. The one bamboo has a splash of yellow. The flower and season tiles are quite detailed, unlike the virtually unidentifiable blobs you often get on cheaper sets. A tiny detail, but a mark of quality, is how each 1 circles tile has a different Chinese pattern at the centre. The backs of the tiles are transparent with the embedded reddish gold pattern shining though. It’s certainly eye catching, but perhaps bit bling for my tastes. The tiles are indexed with western numbers and letters in a clear red font; a necessary evil, I think the clutter of western numbers detracts from the aesthetics of the tiles, but they makes the game more accessible and help with teaching. So to the case. It looks very nice indeed; wood, with a patterned top and gold coloured metal hinges, handle and clasp. The bottom is covered with a brown velvet like material so you won’t scratch any surfaces. Inside the tiles come in four trays lined with velvet like material. This is another sign of a quality set. A fifth velvet tray holds the accessories. The tiles fit perfectly into the trays, and the trays fit perfectly into the box.But here comes a but. If you want to keep your case looking beautiful you will need to handle it with care, the wood veneer is pretty thin and there’s probably just particleboard or similar underneath. Also I wouldn’t trust the handle to carry the case. I’m sure it would work loose from the weight of the tiles fairly quickly. So don’t, for example, plan to carry the set on public transport or sling it into a backpack. It’s for keeping at home or transporting carefully in a car, probably wrapped in a blanket. There’s not much to say about the accessories. You get plenty of points sticks, a nice wooden prevailing wind indicator and three dice. The instruction book that comes with the set is, inadequate. It's printed in colour on glossy paper but it only gives a vague outline of a scoring system based on Mahjong Competition Rules, it doesn’t include all the combinations and some of it is just wrong. Not a big deal, it's easy to find instructions online, but I think the booklet needs rewriting. So that’s everything I can think of to say about this set. All my criticisms are tiny ones. It’s a great set, well worth the money and perfect for learning to play or as a gift, just don't mistreat the case. 5 stars.

Box quality
The box is really nice but the handle doesn't feel very strong to carry such a heavy box, I have used it but to be safe I hold the box without the handle. The tiles are really a nice size and they looks so good and feels good to touch. The game manual is very helpful but the scoring has little explained. I don't use the scoring pieces, but It does come with it. It was a bit expensive but I think it was actually good quality and worth it to me. I'm very happy with it.

Muy bonito set; si las fichas fueran un poco más grandes sería genial
Muy bonito set; si las fichas fueran un poco más grandes sería genial. La caja de madera también es bonita.
