Review: Good book. Review: Hi Everybody, I understand that this book is aimed at older children but wow, what a read! I firstly read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, which was brilliant. I bought this to carry on the books by John Boyne. The plot is steady and concise and explains how the innocence of a Child can be manipulated by his surroundings and experiences. By putting the Child into this situation tells of how he grows to forget his early life and Jewish friends in Paris and becomes a member of the Hitler Youth which aids his development for the Reich. He believes he is going to right a wrong and make his Dad and Germany proud again when Hitler wins the second World War. I liked the references to real Nazi Members and how the book progressed, even crossing paths with the first book. 10/10 I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in History of the Second World War. Also a great talking point for Kids learning about the Nazi's. Brilliant. Thankyou for reading my review. X

Una historia que engancha desde el primer momento. Interesante evolución del protagonista.

A different kind of look at the war. A side we seldom read about. The author made this a compelling story. There were times that I could not stop reading. A very fast read with characters that are easy to visualize as you read. I’ll read it again some day for sure.
