I used the women's version of this pack (the Tempest 20) for years; it's still perfectly functional, but quite worn after lots of hiking and traveling. I picked up this one last summer before moving abroad, and I couldn't be happier with it! It serves as my everyday laptop bag, hiking pack, and personal item for travel. It's lightweight but super sturdy - aside from the logo wearing off, the pack is still in perfect condition after close to a year of daily use. It's spacious enough to work as my only bag for 3-5 day trips but still fits under any plane seat, and the harness system and back panel make it comfortable for long travel days and long hikes. I recently picked up the 33L version to tackle the Camino de Santiago this summer.

Osprey knows how to make backs. This is the best daypack I have ever owned, and I have owned many. It has all the features and adjustability of a full size back, so you can dial in the fit to make it very comfortable. The quality is typical Osprey; it is holding up very well and I am sure it will last for many years of hiking.

I used last year's version of this pack for extensive hiking and mountain climbing, including ascending 62 named peaks in Colorado in 2024. It is my favorite day pack I've ever owned due to excellence in ruggedness, keeping my back relatively cool as I hike, overall pocket design, etc. Only flaw is that it's hydration compartment is one inch in circumference too small to fit standard (or at least the four different brands I own) hydration bladders. You can jam them in with some extended effort but i broke one of my bladders this way and had to discard another due to leakage probably caused by this design flaw. Why the designers didn't check this, I'll never understand, unless their main customer focus is on non-hikers.

Pros: it is comfortable, light, is torso-adjustable, has a bladder sleeve, hip pockets, and a great stretchy outer pocket... much like the big Osprey packs. And at 22L, it has enough space for all the food, water, and weather gear you want to carry.

I got this for my husband who wanted a good fitting backpack for day hikes. This met all his needs ( he is VERY picky) and loves the fact his water bottle fits snuggly in the side pocket and also that there is a comfortable strap to hook onto his waistline.
