Q: I'm over 250lbs but under 300 - will I still be able to use this sitz bath? If not, which one should I buy?

I was around 240# when I used this that seat. I used it for over 3 mo even at work and at home religiously every bowel movement. The seat is still ok. However I. You will see the plastic ribs or reinforcements signs of stress. I would consider ok. It is plastic and kind of soft no brittle, which is ok. Ni sure how long are u going to use it in your case, but it works quite well for me.

Q: How do you dry/keep the bag & tube clean (to avoid mold, etc)?

Hang it up with the top open until it completely dries out. The time it takes to dry out will depend on the humidity in your home. For easier drying, take a plastic clothes hanger and make a simple cut so you can slip the water bladder onto the hanger. This will keep the mouth of the water bladder open and allow bladder to properly dry out.

Q: What is the purpose of the bag and hose?

As you use the sitz bath, the water will cool off and get colder. You fill the bag with warm to hot water, and there is a clamp on the hose that you can release to replenish the water in the sitz bath with warm or hot water. The water that is already in the tub will overflow into the toilet. That is the way you keep the water fresh and warm. However, the bag and tube are optional, and easily disconnect so that you can use them or not.
