It's a bell.

I purchased this bell for my boyfriend to put on his motorcycle. He was so excited to put it on and show it off that he hung it near the handlebar so he could see it. A fellow biker told him that they are actually supposed to go near the bottom of the bike to "ward off road spirits". Instead of doing that he got another plain bell for the bottom so he could still see this one! The quality of this bell is impeccable and the pictures don't do them justice. If the company made a similar one with a "posterior" view I would buy him a matching set!
