Portions are perfect, and it tastes good too. Super easy to use, just pop it in the microwave and you've got rice in a few mins. It's good quality rice too, so you won't feel as if you're eating crap. And it has the perfect amount of stickiness, which is why I use it for Kimbap too. All in all I'll be purchasing this rice quite often.

One minute and thirty seconds and you have cooked rice! I have bought several boxes and the quality has been consistently excellent. Will keep on buying them. In addition to the quality, taste, and ease of preparation, I appreciate the carton quality. Extremely sturdy and secure. At first it might seem that you would need to cut the flaps open but don't do that or you could cut one of the rice bowls. All you need to do is to start at the middle of each flap with a finger and work them left and right toward the edges and the carton flaps will easily release. Couldn't be easier.

The best instant rice on the market, this is the only brand our family buys. Perfect for small portions or when you want something quick. The price isn't bad either, considering we don't live close to an Asian market.

Each bag is a bowl of microwave rice. I like to think of them as premium minute-rice. They are very good.Things to note: these grains are not hard and once you microwave them they come out with a subtle sticky rice texture. This was my favorite part about it but perhaps some wont. I only bought it because I only have access to a microwave but if you have a rice cooker I would heavily suggest getting premium rice and that would be good.

Quick and easy. Good rice. A little much when I bring for lunch. More of a dinner portion.

I just finished my first bowl of this fantastic product and I am astounded by the quality. In 90 seconds I had a steaming bowl of perfectly cooked white rice. I added a heaping ladle full of chili and had a filling and delicious meal.I am an Army Brat, and spent some time in Japan when I was a boy and one of my fondest memories was Japanese style curry and sticky white rice S&B Golden Curry Sauce with Vegtables, Hot, 8.1-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 5). My family bought a rice cooker, and white rice has been a favorite of mine ever since. This product rivals the quality of rice straight from a rice cooker. I plan to try the Nishiki brand Nishiki Cooked White Rice, 7.4-Ounce (Pack of 6) of this same product type as I have a brand loyalty and it is only slightly more expensive, however, barring my own brand preferences, this product is top notch.The rice is packaged pre-cooked, and all you need to do is peel back the lid a bit and microwave it for 90 seconds...thats it...and presto, hot white rice. I have read in another review that you can control the desired level of stickiness by how much or little you peel the top back. This first bowl, I followed the instructions exactly and peeled the top back to the printed line and the result was a medium sticky rice. I personally prefer a mega sticky rice, so I will experiment, however, because each grain came out perfectly chewy and separated, I can easily see this product used as a sushi rice where those characteristics are paramount. I usually eat my rice with chili or curry, so I prefer it stickier so as to not become thoroughly saturated with the liquids. The amazing thing about the product is that it can be used in various ways depending on how you cook it.I will definitely purchase this product again!

Awesome! It's quick and easy! And, to me at least, is just as good as any cooker or stove cooked rice without the wait time and need to get measurements right.All you need to do is peel back the lid to the dotted line and cook in the microwave for 1 min 30 sec. I cook mine for 1 min 45 sec and came out great.People who complain of strange smell and taste might have got a bad batch or cooked these for too long. 1min 45sec was sufficient for me. Only 15 sec passed their recommend time and no strange smell and taste. Taste like leftover re-heated rice. Not as good as fresh cooker rice, but still tasty and good enough for a meal.These are smaller than I thought they would be. If you eat rice as part of a main meal, you would probably use 2 of these bowls to get the quantity you're used to.Overall an excellent product for those who want quick and easy rice to eat with their meals, but don't eat rice enough to warrant buying a cooker and huge bags of rice.

Just to address some things from other reviews:-mine came with an expiration date six months out from when it arrived; I have no doubt it will be long gone by then-I didn't find the rice overly sticky or clumpy; I would encourage folks to fluff the rice a little with a fork before digging inI was more than a little skeptical when I bought the pack but willing to try it because rice is pretty much my go-to substance to put meats and sauces and such on and it offers the perfect canvas for just about anything else I could pair it with for a quick office lunch.To my surprise and delight... it's good! It's better than I was expecting microwave rice to be (she who lives with both a ricecooker and a caldero to make it at home) and it worked really nicely paired with some of the other options I picked out. I'm sitting here, at my desk, nicely full and content from a good lunch and pretty darn pleased with my purchase.Is it perfect? No. It's microwave rice. But for that, it's good.
