Love the drill
Good price (at least when it was on sale) and it’s got just enough power for a battery powered drill. Battery seems to last a long time and it’s pretty durable. Definitely been dropped a few times and has never skipped a beat.

Best tool on the market
Do Not use this tool for hammer drilling it will destroy this tool. Poor choice on my part

Very powerful, very handy
I can use my previously purchased batteries for this item, and it’s super powerful. We used itTo stabilize furniture to the wall. Drilling holes into sheet rock to hang photos, etc..I also have the lawnmower, blower, and Weedwhacker by Makita.I am small and stature, and have a bad back, and I find all of these lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Lightweight but powerful.
I like the quality of this powerful tool. It's also lightweight, making it easy to handle for a long day. I'm glad I bought it.

Great Drill
Great drill. Light, nice features, plenty of power. I have no complaints at all about the drill but be careful who is listed as the "seller". In my case the seller was HVAC And TOOLS Direct. I did receive the drill in a timely fashion however the manner in which it was shipped is my issue. The drill was wrapped in a single sheet of plastic bubble wrap and then dropped into a box twice much bigger than the drill without any padding material of any kind to prevent it from rolling around the box during shipping. Also, it was not in any kind of original manufacturer product box, there was no manual, warranty card, no printed material of any kind. I find this unacceptable. I'll keep the drill, as it is undamaged (sheer luck) and works well, but I will never buy a product from HVAC And TOOLS Direct again.

Best bang for the buck for a professional drill
I bought this drill to replace an earlier one that had the chuck seize after 12 years. It was badly corroded and I could have prevented the failure. I ran a small construction company for 9 years and learned that Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee, and Porter Cable make the best tools. Makita is the most reasonably priced among these, for a tool you intend to buy only once. This drill was designed smaller on purpose, with super torque. Smaller drills get in more spaces, especially in cabinetry. With 2 batts, and one always charging, you can build a deck or a fence quickly and sink 4.5 inch screws all day long. DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi can't do that - they don't have the torque this drill has. The charging station sings a Bach tune letting you know you have a fresh batt fully charged. It was designed for professionals that need to keep working without interruption. It's balanced and ergonomic for the professional, and easy to carry up a tall ladder. I don't have any tattoos. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of this drill... but not really. My fav pro tools are Milwaukee, but their prices are nowhere near as friendly. On a side note, use Milwaukee drill bits on your Makita to save you time and frustration ;-)

Drill could use an airtight housing to preven smoke from escaping
Smoke came out first time I used it. Drill couldn't handle light duty of installing drywall screws, started smelling like it was burning and smoke came pouring out. This was a replacement for a previous Makita that ran great for decades. I have been using tools including corded and battery drills including Makita for many years, I was surprised at the low quality. Probably something with the manufacturing quality control. Now i am reconsidering if I want to stick with Makita tools since I own reciprocating saws, circular saw etc. Amazon wouldn't let me return it so I have lost $80 plus after using the drill for just a couple of hours. DO NOT BUY THIS DRILL. Not worth any money.

Runs well at a good price
For a bare tool its a reasonable price. We use many of these on the job so replacing them is just a part of business. This one worked just like all the others, I can't tell any difference. The price was right and it was delivered fast. I will order again.
