This product looks great on a sales page, but horribly badly built when it gets here in person.The sales images show a nicely square head to the face of the hammer... When it was received it had rounded corners, which in fact were very much not symmetrical... Very poor craftsmanship.The metal is all dirty and pitted.The handle-to-head connection looks like somebody dipped the whole thing in super glue or epoxy and said "F* it.. good enough!" And gave up...Lastly, the handle has a carry strap which is screwed in.. that screw is wildly off center, and was clearly not put in by somebody with 2 good seeing eyes, or someone who gives a damn about their job...Poor craftsmanship at a premium price. Do yourself a favor and pick up the $5 Home Depot hammer, rather than spending $10 on this piece of badly made junk.

I used to just use a split log to pound in tent stakes... but that's really hard on the hands, especially without gloves (splinters!). And I used to just use the tent's own loop the stake is thru to pull them out, sometimes that's difficult when the ground has frozen and agfain is hard on the hands. So rather than take my regular claw hammer camping, I bought this. So glad for it, too! This thing easily pounds in steaks, even into tightly packed earth with lot's of shale bits mixed in. The large square contact surface is great for making clean, solid contact with the stake head. On a tent fully staked with 10 stakes, I only glanced on TWO strikes, and by then my hands were clear. And no bent stakes because there's more control with this hammer than a log. And when it came time to pull up stakes and pack it up, the hook on this thing made doing so so much easier and somehow took less effort.Highly recommend this!

The quality is nothing like the image shown. It looks like a cheap casting for the head that is poorly finished. The head is poorly pressed to the handle and is off square. Also it's utility isn't that great for pulling stakes. Almost useless.

Great tent stakes. These tent stakes are strong and work well. The bracket neat the head keeps the stake head sticking out of the ground so they are easy to find and remove. I needed to grind out the jaws on my claw hammer so it fit the shank of the tent stake. Seller even followed up to make sure that I received them OK. I will buy more again when I need them.I forgot to look at the luminescent ring that comes with the stakes. If I remember to look at them I will update my review. Over all the rings don't matter to me.

Hammer is poorly made. Once out of the box it is very obvious. Excess glue is visible between the Eye and Handle. The head has deep scratches. I used it for the first time this weekend and the Face is smashed in,now, after a few hits on tent stakes. Not worth the money. You can find a better hammer at a dollar discount store.
