My old fan/light unit was hit by a power surge. I actually had an electrician check it out since other electrical items were affected. I ordered this as a replacement and got it fast. So the "easy to install" rating was because I already had an electrician doing work on the house. But he said it really was easy, and it certainly works as well as the original.

A brief electrical power surge that made my household lights flicker on and off several times took out my Minka Aire ceiling fan's receiver. I pulled the cover off the electrical connection on the fan and found a receiver model number CFR-3T. I searched for the model number on Amazon and this one popped up. The receiver in this kit has a different model number but appears to be a direct replacement. It fits and works just fine. The instructions that came with the unit were clearly written and It was easy to install. White wires to white wires - black wires to black wires - blue wire to blue wire. Easy peasy! The one gotcha that I discovered AFTER I installed the receiver was that the hand-held transmitter does not have a fan reverse button. My bad for not paying enough attention when I ordered it. Fortunately, my old transmitter worked just fine with the new receiver. I have an extra transmitter if anybody wants it. ;-)

The system does not have a reverse on it to make the fan spin upwards. I wanted to try it, but it was pointless. I made a mistake purchasing this.

It fit right back into the ceiling fan box
