Good tuna and good price!
I like Starkist tuna - both the solid white albacore and this chunk light in water (it’s actually more like “shredded” tuna than chunks). I have a finicky cat who was turning her nose up at her food so I thought I’d try adding something that she gets occasionally as a treat. This tuna is very tasty and has lots of moisture. As an added benefit, it is the perfect topping for my cat’s usual food. (And it’s cheaper than other toppings.). So it’s a win-win for me. We like it and so does Miss Kitty. It’s really good in tuna casserole because it’s the darker, more flavorful tuna. It’s packed in water so I don’t have to drain it. For sandwiches I prefer Starkists’ solid white but this is better for casseroles and pasta salads.

Great Price, Great Taste, but Bigger Chunks!
I have grown up on tuna, from store brand to name brand. Starkist, for the most part, was the brand that my mother bought most often. As far as taste and color, very little has changed since the good old days of 6 oz. cans (pre 2008). One thing I have noticed lately is the tuna itself seems to be cut into larger chunks, especially Starkist. I am not sure whether it has been processed at a different place, but I am not the only one noticing this--my cats, who get tuna as a treat, will leave the big chunks on the plate. For this reason, I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Each can contains firm, meaty chunks of tuna that are perfectly preserved in oil. The tuna has a delicate texture and a mild, clean taste that is not overly fishy or overpowering. Awesome deal
Less than a dollar a can?!!! What a deal! I'm a canned seafood junky in all fairness.I read all the bad reviews, I notice that most are from the tuna packed in water. I prefer the taste of oil, it doesn't taste "watered down", go figure!I don't expect a $1 can of tuna to harbor giant chunks, be realistic! If you are losing product during draining, change your method? Common sense please.I love this stuff, its such a simple meal straight out of the can. Tons of protein and vitamins.I just noticed that 12 packs of oil packed aren't available currently for that reduced price. My finger is on the trigger when it happens again, I'll buy a gross.Update... I've purchased 2 of these now, awesome deal for just over 80 cents a can! To me the oil version tastes way better than water, right amount of salt, lots of flavor. The two bottom cans were very slightly dented but no issues! I eat several cans a week, huge source of selenium.
