Trust your instincts, check your radon.
*Original Review:* When buying my house, the home inspector told me it passed the radon inspection so I had nothing to worry about. I happened to glance over his shoulder and see the read-out from his radon monitor. It showed radon levels above 4.0 pCi/L for 1 of the 3 days. He said not to worry about the high day, just trust the 3-day average, which was about 2.5 pCi/L. I couldn't get it out of my head and decided to buy this radon monitor. It was easy to set up in about 10 minutes (just follow the instructions). The app allowed me to easily read the radon levels and compare them over time. I have been running the monitor for months and check it every day to be safe. It performs perfectly. I found that the radon level has remained above 10.0 pCi/L for an entire week at a time, and has even hit 30.0 pCi/L on occasion. It would fail the home inspection 4 out of 5 times, but the inspector happened to check it during a good week. I'm just glad I trusted my instincts instead of listening to the home inspector. *Update after 6 months:* Once the weather turned cold, the radon in my basement jumped to levels like 80 pCi/L and remained above 20 pCi/L for weeks at a time. I called a radon mitigation company to fix it. The radon repair guys have now visited my house to try to track down the source of the radon. It has been a mess. They had to install multiple mitigation systems, one on each side of the basement, to get enough suction to keep the radon levels below 4.0 pCi/L. Since the radon repair guys brought in their $2,000 radon monitors and sniffers, I was able to compare the EcoQube to the professional-grade monitors. EcoQube outperformed the professional models! When the radon was rising, like from 20 to 30 pCi/L, the EcoQube would get to 30 first while the professional monitors were rising slowly. After a while, they all agreed on the number, so they were all equally accurate eventually, but the EcoQube adjusted the most quickly as the radon was rising. *Final Thoughts* You need to track radon continuously over a long period of time to know what’s going on. It fluctuates constantly, so it will be low one week and high the next week. Those 3-day testing kits are completely useless, since you never know if you picked a good week or a bad week to test it. You need a continuous monitor like this that keeps up with the data so you can see how your radon has been rising and falling over a few months. I have now compared radon levels over long periods of time in my basement using EcoQube and the high-end professional radon monitors used by a radon mitigation company. We found that the EcoQube is better than the professional monitors — it gets the right numbers and reports those numbers more quickly than the professional monitors, while also having an easy to use app for visualizing your radon over time and reporting the average levels by day, week, or month. I highly recommend EcoQube.

Accurate, Reliable and Easy to Use—Well Worth the Price
I was due for a radon retest and decided to try the EcoQube instead of buying another disposable home test kit. I was curious to see how its results would compare to the kit I used when I first purchased my home—and they matched up almost exactly. That gave me immediate confidence in the device’s accuracy. Setup was fast and straightforward. I had my first reading within 10 minutes. Since I work from home and my kids often play in the basement, the peace of mind from continuous monitoring is invaluable. I figured worst-case scenario, I could return the EcoQube and go back to disposable kits—but that definitely wasn’t necessary. I’m really glad I made the switch. It’s not a cheap device, but when you consider the cost of repeated test kits over the years, it makes financial sense. Plus, it’s compact and portable, which will be handy if we ever move. There’s no digital display on the device itself, which I knew ahead of time. That wasn’t an issue for me, but it might be for some. You’ll need to download the app to view and track readings. The app is simple to use and gives you current readings as well as daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly averages. You can also export daily readings, which is a nice touch—though I do wish there were an option to export a combined report with all the averages included. Overall, I highly recommend the EcoQube for anyone looking for a long-term, reliable radon monitoring solution.

CES 2021 Innovation Product which support Wi-Fi connection!
I found that EcoQube has been publicly announced as recipient of CES 2021 Innovations award honoree on the CES website and had started to get interested in this product. (* CES: the most influential tech event in the world) I purchased a new home on 12/01/2020 and the radon level came back at 5.9 pCi/L in the basement during a building inspection. I thought, maybe I had better get my place tested. I did some research, and was put off with the idea of paying $5 to $10 for a kit, having to do the test over a period of time then having to pay and wait for each result. We had decided to buy some radon detectors to retest when the new home was mine to double check. EcoQube e is not our first radon detector, we have gone through a few other brands(Airthings, etc) to get accurate radon data for my house. The high radon levels were 2.3 pCi/L in the basement, 1.2 pCi/L on first floor, and 0.5 pCi/L on second floor after a 7 day test on both levels. It's now been set up for one month, and the readings have been consistent with what my inspector told me. This testing via EcoQube saved us a ton of money on installing a radon mitigation system and it's not inexpensive product but over the long run will prove worthwhile I believe. EcoQube stands out because it seems to provide the most accurate and stable readings when compared to the other brands we purchased. This's actually real time radon detector for home owner which has the high sensitivity - 0.5cpm/pCi/l (13.5cpm/1000Bq/m3) and 30cph/pCi/l, about 20~30 times more than conventional radon detector by high stable circuit technology. I think you should check accuracy and sensitivity information when trying to order a radon detector. With my research and investigation for multiple consumer radon detectors, EcoQube is the best product than any other products based on testing results with high accuracy data. (our professional inspector agreed that too after comparing to their short and long team inspection result) Mobile App was incredibly easy to set up and working well via Wi-Fi connection in both iOS(iPhone11) and Android(Samsung Galaxy S20). Find an area you want to test, plug the device in, make sure the air holes aren't blocked, and wait. you can leave it on a flat surface like a counter, tile, or carpet. It's very straightforward to check LED color and to switch between long- and short-term readings. To me, it was pretty impressed that it provides the first reading in 10 minutes after plug & play setup, reliable result within 1 hour. If you're looking for BEST Accurate Radon Detector, I do recommend the EcoQube to families with kids, property managers renting out homes, or anyone else who wants an alarm built into their continuously monitored radon detector. Again, I'm happy to see this product became 'CES 2021 Innovation Awards'!

App is not even half baked, go look elsewhere.
My chief complaint for this device is that the app/software experience is effectively unusable and you should consider a competitor product. I am used/expect IoT devices to have some jank setup software experiences but this one was beyond the pale. I couldn’t with version 6.9.0 of their software even get the device setup after fussing with a hour (this is with iOS 26.1) and returned it. Among some really basic issues with setup process is that for one when it asks you to select a WiFi network the app doesn’t even show the SSID so you’re stuck guessing which WiFi network is yours. Once you select the right now, it kept crashing out on the app and you have to restart the whole process. If you select the wrong network, it seems restarting doesn’t work as it just fails to connect and you have to force close the app and start over. Mind you I had setup the WiFi network for a dedicated 2.4 GHz network just for IoT and this is the first time I’ve seen a device like this just fail setup completely, i.e its worst than some WiFi-only smart plugs and smart bulbs I’ve used. With the device having no real interface beyond the app nominally this is a hard fail. Contrast this with the competitor product that’s also WiFi connected, that has an additional interface in the form e-ink display and setup was far simpler and robust, ie pulling the tab to activate the battery and plugging it in, and connecting it to its App took five minutes. For a product core point being internet connected with an app, this fails hard on that account. Go spend your money elsewhere.

Information is power
I’ve been using this about a month now. I like that it has a simple color changing LED on the unit so I can tell at a glance the current radon level. The app provides much more detailed info and you can see the wild swings over time and get graphs to visualize the data as well as export it. It was easy to set up (you need a WiFi connection for the app to work) and so far I am very pleased.

Possible Connection Fix
I had a difficult time connecting the Ecocube to my mesh router. The suggestions from ecosense did not help. After a couple of days I got it to connect. You need to turn off 5ghz. Turn off WPA3 AND IVP security. Any security you can turn off on your router, do it. That worked for me. After connection all the security was reinstated. The unit was unplugged and plugged in. It reconnects without issue. Before turning off the security, during the scan the internet symbol came up without names. After disabling security, the names of the internet scaned came up allowing me to choose the network. Hope this helps. Love the unit, it produces the same results as a send in test.

Everyone Should Have an EcoQube
Purchase my first home in April 2021. The home passed the mandatory radon inspection in Illinois. Naturally, I'm the type that does research endlessly on things. So I knew that the radon testing required for home purchases isn't sufficient. The test are a single glimpse in time and can be beat with circulating fresh air into the house. Radon gas dissipates extremely quickly in fresh air and levels elevated in a home will come crashing down with a single window open... I know this from research and validated it using the EcoQube after moving into the home in May 2021. I measured the radon levels over a couple months to determine what the average level was. The water table, barometric pressure and even lunar calendar can all impact how much radon emits from the soil. I wanted to understand if the average level, accounting for natural increases and decreases due to the latter items would be safe. As it turns out, the levels in the home were above action level and pretty significantly. Once I learned this, I called a local radon mitigation company who completed the mitigation work in October. Since mitigation was complete, the levels came down and they've maintained consistency, so no wild swings in radon levels (See image). Without EcoQube being such an easy and effective way for someone to measure and track radon at home, I would not have known how critical it was for me to do radon mitigation. Overall, I highly recommend this product. Sure I've had issues with connectivity from time to time but it was network related. Make sure you can run the correct frequency as this only supports 2.4 Ghz. When I learned this I switch my router to a nest wifi mesh network which runs both 2.4 and 5 Ghz and it hasn't gone offline since. In terms of accuracy I can't for certain say how accurate it is but prior to and post mitigation the numbers from the ecoqube were in-line with the formal testing that was done. It's purpose isn't to be a regulated monitor but give you an idea if you have elevated levels over time, accounting for natural fluctuations - OR - making sure your existing mitigation system is performing as designed.
