It does leave the wig feeling silky. I don't know if there's any product that prevents tangling.

I only used it once on imitation hair because I find the smell very strong & unpleasant.

Will this shampoo remove makeup from a very light colored synthetic wig?

No. It is great shampoo. It is great shampoo in that it will remove makeup that comes in contact with the hair. It will not, however, remove the makeup stain from the under side that touches the face. I have used this shampoo for years and have not found a better one.
