Does not do what it says on the tin
I bought this for my husband in early February, and was really quite excited about it. Unfortunately, we didn't try this thermometer out until cooking our Easter meal, which was far too late to return it, otherwise it would be going back immediately.First of all, it is NOT wireless. There are LOADS of wires in the box. Each probe has to be connected to the display by a wire going from the food, out through the oven door, and to the display. The only 'wireless' part is from the display to your phone. That's after you have up to 6 wires sticking out of your oven around the door.Additionally, the box and the Amazon listing both show this frame (circled in red in the photo) around which to wrap the wires when the probes are not in use. This is not included in the box. So there is no convenient way to store all the wires and probes. Finally, the instructions are practically non-existent. The instructions under How to Use It, the only instructions are: 'Attention. Please contact your thermometer with our Grill 5.0 APP, do not connect your device directly through your bluetooth.' That's it! Really wishing I could still return this thing!

Minor issue with probe identification
Just purchased this (with 6 probes) to replace two previous different devices which had to be returned owing to probes which failed after a month or two.Minor problem in that original description indicated "With 6 different color-marked probes, It can get instant readings on different types of food simultaneously" but all probes appear to be identical which makes identification difficult when using more than 2 simultaneously. Need to add my own markings somehow.Already after just a short time, one sensor giving -ve readings when in the oven. 1 down, 5 to go.Update Jan ā22 ā Last year a further two probes failed giving fluctuating temps leaving me just three. I discovered the device had a 2 year warranty and, on contacting the seller, they sent two replacement probes. Not too worried there were not 3 as I had discovered a āNot Happyā and āCongratulations! You win two extra free probesā card in the original box and a further two probes turned up after contacting them so now I have 7 working probes and still within the original 2 year guarantee.Very good customer service but lost a star for lack of probe identifiers and the fact the probes do not appear to be as reliable which seems to be a common theme for these type of thermometers.

Ceaaeless badgering from company to leave a positive review
The company are responsive but they have an ebay mentality about 5 star reviews being left. The product looks Ok but it is too early to know. I used it to assess temperature of marmalade - not sure how accurate it is as the marm ended up burnt. Did not show 100 degs on freshly boiled water either I have repeatedly asked on email from them to consider including a function on the device and in the app to turn the "fire alarm" off. As it is now hell unfreezes when the set temp is reached and there is notway to turn that off on the device itself (or within app but you can I suppose just silence your phone - why not make the alarm choosable in the app and silence the device?). The readiness to offer more probes as 'encouragements' to leave said positive reviews does lead me to wonder how robust they are. Jury out till autumn and post BBQ season I'd say. They really need to dial back on the uninvited emails about the reviews though.

Sleek design, easy to use
The thermometer main unit is a very neat design with a large clear display. The easy to use App that controls the cooking preferences has an extensive range of settings that can be applied separately to each probe, by meat type and up to 5 settings between rare & well done, plus 2 BBQ smoke heat levels. You can also add personal preference settings. Only niggle I have is you can only use the App once the thermometer is already switched on and linked, you can't set up the cooking preferences first. The main unit can be linked then left to time out and switch itself off and the App still works but am sure this is something that could be fixed with an App update. Am very happy with my purchase, and am looking forward to trying it out with the BBQ next summer.

Good product with great customer service
I bought this on a recommendation of a family member. They had used it to roast a chicken which was beautifully moist and tender and so much nicer than cooking based on weight only. It also appealed because you donāt have to be close to the cooker all the time because the app will alert you when it reaches temperature. Although I have used it a few times since I bought it the real test was the turkey at Christmas. I used 4 probes and rotated the bird to makes sure all probes reached temperature at around the same time. This year the turkey did not get overcooked by trying to make sure it was cooked through properly. Now if we are cooking any piece of meat we use the thermometer and are enjoying the results. The app is really easy to use too. It connects via Bluetooth and you use the app to preset the probe temperature for whatever type of meat is being cooked. While your meat is cooking you can go and do something else and wait for the app to tell you when temperature is reached. When I got the thermometer out to use after Christmas I noticed that one of the probe sockets was damaged. Part of it had fallen into the unit and I could hear it rattling. I was concerned because the return window had closed and there didnāt seem to be a way of contacting the manufacturer through Amazon. The packaging the thermometer arrived in does have email contact details and a website address on the sleeve so I used that to contact the manufacturer. I had a reply to my email within 24 hours, sent them a photo and the Amazon order number, and had a very quick reply saying that a replacement unit would be sent out. It only took a few days from notifying the problem to receiving the replacement unit.Iām also looking forward to trying the unit out when barbecuing later this year. It will take our barbecuing to a different level by making sure things are properly cooked and not incinerated.I thought I didnāt need something like this but eating the results has made me realise what a useful tool it is in my kitchen.
