I Did Not Achieve The Slam-Dunk Success Others Seem To Have Had
After ordering here, I found these at Menards for less than two bucks apiece. I installed a male on the end of a hose that had a crunched connector (run over by one of our cars?) and thought I'd leave a review. The good: it literally took less than a minute to affix the device to the hose. It was, indeed, relatively easy and required no tools. The bad: even though I tried r-e-a-l-l-y hard and did my VERY BEST to shove the hose over the device's ribs as FAR as I could, the device still leaked. I even twisted the device and hose as I went, thinking that would help thread the hose onto the device. Once I fired it up, though, I had a significant leak. Given all the positive reviews, and given how mechanical I am and how careful I was to mate the hose to the device the absolute best I could, I'm not sure how I failed. But I apparently did.The device is, as others have noted, bulky. But the ease of implementation and low cost make this a no-brainer --- assuming you're one of the lucky ones and your device doesn't leak once mated to your hose.

Wow! Things Have Changed in Hose Repair
I wasn't expecting much, remembering what a pain the older style of female hose repair kits were. I set aside time to fix it, prepared to gather tools, find a place to sit near the hose and faucet while repairing, fussing with it to make it go on, prepared myself for the inevitable leaking, etc. None of it was necessary!I have never made such an easy hose repair! I love this thing and will be getting another. When needed I will also buy the hose repair kit, too. Here is how the process went... Walked out my door and around to the faucet (this took the longest), picked up the hose, pushed the repair part on and tightened down, hooked hose back up. Didn't even take two minutes, including the walk to the faucet. And the actual hose repair only took maybe 15-20 seconds. Seriously! If you need to repair your female hose end, THIS is the kit to get. Look no further. You have found what you were looking for.

Best way ever to repair a hose end.
Super easy. Chop off bad end, install this in less than 30 seconds by screwing the pieces together, no tools needed, no more leaks, no sharp hose clamps to cut you. This is the BEST way to fix a damaged, leaky hose end. Fit both thinner wall and thicker wall hoses, cheap ones and good ones. WELL worth the price... and costs very close to the crappy ones with sharp hose clamps, or the ones with the clamp you need to screw together but that the screws never seem long enough, and then strip out when you try to tighten them. Forget the rest. Get this one.

Works great
My 50 foot hose burst about 6 inches from its end. I cut off the bad end of the hose and installed the female hose repair kit. I had never used these repair kits before, yet I was able to install the new hose end in about a minute. It's been a durable repair. The repaired hose is connected to another 50 foot hose and both are on a hose reel with the repaired end in the middle. The repair doesn't interfere much with the hose reel. Works great.

Provides a very quick and strong "fix"
This is a so-called "female" hose connector which is used to attach to your garden hose to your faucet. The "5/8 inch" in the description means that it is designed to fit a garden hose that has a 5/8 inch inside diameter. The "3/4 inch" in the title means that this connector is designed to fit a faucet that has a 3/4 diameter thread which is, by far, the most common size. .It is extremely easy to install. All you need to do is to cut the old (bad) connection off the hose. Unscrew the gray collar from this connector and slide the gray collar on to the hose WITH THE THREADS POINTING TOWARD THE END OF THE HOSE YOU ARE WORKING ON.. Then push the yellow connector on to the end of the hose as far as it will go. Then screw the gray collar (that you slide on to the hose earlier) on to the yellow connector as tightly as possible. The entire process took me about 20 seconds. It works like a charm. And make sure that there is a rubber "garden hose washer" inside the threaded area of the yellow connector.

Amazing little gadget
Having spent a lot of time, a little bit of money and a ton of frustration trying to repair the join of a fairly expensive hose, last ditch effort was to give this fixture a try. It worked -- and not just okay. It is stellar. Easy to install (no tools, really) and sealed the hose with no leakage. Could not have been more efficient. With the pricey hose done, I even gave it a go on the cheap one. No problem.

Best hose-end design I've ever found!
Always having to fix a garden hose and never seem to get them to completely quit leaking? Yeah, try fixing a water hose for potable water with your RV. Normally, RV parks either have terrible water pressure, high or low. Low isn't the problem, but high pressure can destroy your hose ends quickly, and RV drinking water hoses aren't black rubber, so unless you can find an RV parts house quickly, you end up patching hose ends. Again, due to pressure, most 'clamp-on' hose ends leak. Often, sooner than later. I bought one of these Nelson fittings thinking 'hey, you put it on by hand, no screwdrivers or wrenches', just a pocket knife to square-the-hose-end, then screw this thing on. Looked simple in the instructions, actually is even easier in real life. I put it on the hose, where I knew I had some HIGH water pressure, and voila! No more leaks. I've had it on the hose, under constant high pressure now for about 2-months, and it still hasn't dripped a single drop of water. The yellow knurl part is hard plastic, and even in Southwest Desert heat, stills stays hard enough that it doesn't deform and start leaking. Had it down to 30-degrees F, too, and it still holds solid. Love this thing! I have now bought 2 more of them, yes, they are rather pricey, but I can't find them local, and I have YET to find anything that can really compare. Buy one, and you'll buy more for back-ups and other hoses quickly.
