I have been buying these besrd butters for my husband for a few years now and he loves them. They add great moisture and make his beard so soft. This sample box was great because it allowed us to try several scents at once. I personally hate the Corktown scent (but my husband liked it), I promise you it smells like an ashtray with vanilla on it. I do not care for the 313 either. However the Belle Isle, Traverse City, Leland, Black all smell wonderful! My favorites would have to be Traverse City, then Belle Isle. If you are looking for a very light but fresh scent, the Black is that kind of scent. I will say that the butters can have a greasy texture when first applied, especially if u put lot on, but it soaks in and provides a beautiful sheen without staying greasy, well at least for black hair textures it does, I cannot speak for any other hair texture.

With (6) one ounce jars to sample from the value here is really amazing considering you get six different scents to try.It’s hard to pull the trigger on a single full-size jar just based on the descriptions of what the ingredients are so a sampler is very appreciated.The 1 ounce jars will actually last quite a while if you’re using the proper amount of beard butter, which isn’t very much per application, so it’s not like these are one or two use jars either.When you go by the scent profiles alone it’s hard to pull the trigger on a full size jar if you’re not quite sure what it’s gonna smell like in your beard. Just based off the scent profiles I would’ve ordered jars that I wasn’t 100% pleased after receiving them with but the sampler took away that risk.For instance based on the scent profile I never would have ordered the “Corktown” scent because one of the scents in that profile is tobacco and that doesn’t seem like something I would like but Corktown is by far my favorite of the entire set and I will be ordering a full size jar straight away.Detroit grooming is top quality stuff and the sampler is a very affordable way to take the guesswork out of what you should be buying next in full size.The only negative I would give this sampler is there is no scent profile included on the jars or on the box so in order to find out what each scent profile is you either need to go to their website or look up the full size jars on Amazon and look at the pictures as the full size jars have the scent profile on the label. Not a big deal as it just takes a minute or two but if the scent profiles were included with the sampler that would save you a step.

Now that my beard is longer it needs better conditioning, this is the stuff. Half of the scents are pretty strong, the other half is quite subtle. I like all the scents, very unique in that none of them have that cologne axe body spray perfume smell. Scent profiles are simple and not offensive, not over done. I use it liberally after the shower, its the best. Soft, thick, and fluffy.

I only tried this company per the recommendation from DCB. First time using it I was pleased, my beard did feel slightly softer then before but not much more then if I just used beard oil. After using it , I felt like it was accumulating on my wiskers and so I would have to use another product to remove this product. To much hassle. For the scents, I will not leave a review on this because everyone smells differently. The product itself isn't bad, but it's not for me.

Love this product! Was looking for something to try out since my boyfriend started growing out his beard and the results were amazing. So amazing we ended up on Detroit Grooming Co's website and ordered a bunch more directly. His beard went from scratchy and giving me beard burn to being so soft and cuddly. The variety of scents in this was far more than we could have hoped with each one being fantastic in its own way. He's definitely going to be using this stuff for a long time.

I liked every scent. I would definitely buy again. My beard is about 3 inches. A box lasted me about 2 months. Better quality than most brands.
