Stunning exhibit catalog with insightful text
"Where Two Worlds Meet" documents an exhibition about the Great Lakes fur trade that was developed in 1982. As both an archeologist and researcher of Métis settlement, this is a resource that I regularly take out. Usually, I take time to admire again the excellent graphics, stunning photos, and insightful text. I would have enjoyed seeing the original museum exhibition. The tumultuous contact period of the North American fur trade shaped two cultures, and was the cauldron that led to the genesis of a third, the Métis. There should be something for everyone in this handsome catalog: from antiquarians, artists, historians, and scholars, to students of Americana. At 136 pages, my greatest annoyance with this catalog is the lack of an index.
